I was just at www.wdwig.com and they have the new Garden Grill menu posted. OMG! This sounds SO good! Especially the dessert. I think I'm going to switch my Marrakesh or Cape May Cafe to Garden Grill.

But I have one question - is the food still served family style like it used to be? All of the entrees sound amazing! The top of the menu states that it's $21.99 per adult for dinner, so I am assuming it's still famliy style. Is it a character meal, too? I'm going to go contact my DU agent about the change. The food really sounds amazing!!!! :flower:

I don't think the review was "bad." I have never dined at the Garden Grill, so I have nothing to compare it to. Also, from my personal experience, I have disagreed with many posters as to dining experiences, so I'll take my chances. And, as with any new restaurant, or recently revamped ones, it takes a while to work out the kinks. We're not going until July, so maybe by then they will have the service, food and ambiance down to a science. Just a(open minded) thought.

based on the new menu and at least one review i read here at the dis, we will probably not be returning to our family's absolute favorite restaurant... garden grill! they "ruined" it for us by going "upscale" :(

it really bothers me that they messed with something that, imo, had been perfect... it was the most family friendly meal at epcot...

Yum - i think it is worth a try - I have to be honest we tried the Garden Grill for dinner in 2002 and we did not care for it at all but I am willing to try this new menu. Thanks for posting. :flower:

I'll say that the old menu never reall impressed us, but the new menu sounds good! We might have to try it. We did eat there once, on our first trip in '90. That was w/ the old old menu. :)

My biggest problem will be choosing which entree. I like the sounds of the Beef Strip Loin, the Seafood Cioppino, and the Mushroom Ravioli. The starters and the dessert sound great, as well. Guess that means I will have to go more than once...lol! We are going on May 21st, so I will be sure to weigh in on my opinions at that time!

You might want to check out this review and pictures. It doesn't look nearly as good as it sounds...

I thought it sounded GREAT, and the OP gave it a good rating--- which for a brand new menu in previews seems about right. Seems as the biggest problem was with the Chicken, and I am sure they will get that worked out. The pics looked pretty good, as well! Can't wait until May 21st!!!! It is nice to know that you can order more and get a different option the next time, so maybe I won't have to choose! There will be 5 of us going, so if we each get a different entree, then we can all taste and decide who likes what better and go from there!!!!

That menu sounds so much better than the old menu..I think hubby and I will give it a try. I bet that food gets really good after they work the opening kinks out.

After looking at the pics, it does not look very appetizing, they need to work on plateing the food. You would think with all the vegs they grow in the land they would put some on each plate for some color.
Even the desert, that sounded delish, once I saw it...well my kids could put together that plate..
I am so disapointed in this, good thing Epcot has plenty of other resturant choices.

We used to love the GG & thought the character interaction was some of the best around. I'm a little unsure about the new menu, but was excited it was open again, so I made us a PS for our arrival day dinner 5/12/05! Can't wait to try it again :teeth:

On another post they said the usual Chicken Strips or Mac and cheese. they did not mentionthe kids price though.

That is exactly what I was saying. The food in the pictures looks, well, to put it bluntly, rather disgusting. That steak has to be the most unappetizing piece of meat I've ever seen, and everything is swimming in gravy. I wasn't trying to be "close-minded" as someone seemed to suggest. Just look at the pictures. I agree the menu "sounds" good on paper. The pictures make the food look gross.

Honestly, yeah, I was trying to look at it on its own but sometimes the old menu and the old experiences would come creeping back into my mind and I'd start to compare.

It's hard not to do, honestly, because we had good times there and the twice we ate there before stuck fast in my mind for various reasons. It's hard to look forward sometimes, since we didn't see this as a vast improvement.

And for the pictures, I take 'em as I see 'em. Unfortunately the "steak" did look pretty icky. :sad2:

And, btw, thanks for providing those pics. I almost never comment, but I always like reading your food reviews, it's like I'm eating vicariously through you. :teeth:

I liked the previous GG menu quite a bit. I might try this down the road after they have some time to catch the actual food up to the menu descriptions. :rotfl:

I love doing them! :)

Yeah, really, we had the same first impression a lot of people do, on the menu: "Wow, this sounds really good!" And then we looked at the food: "oh..."

Your description of the steak is making me laugh, though. :teeth:

And THIS is the number one thing that keeps going through my mind:
