Has anyone been to the Garden Grill at Epcot. My wife and I are taking our 4 year old son in September:banana: . We've been many times and been to plenty of places and are wanting to try NEW places that he may enjoy. Any suggestions or comments?:confused3

DD and DW really liked it , Great character interaction and plenty of food.

I had to do some running around so I skipped it.

GG is a great restaurant for character interaction. A+ really. The characters will visit each table at least 3 times per dinner. Another element of fun with GG is it rotates through the Land Ride. I would suggest asking to sit in the lower portion of the restaurrant to actually be able to see this. Our last visit had us seated in the upper section and it was hard to enjoy the rotation.

As far as the food, it's good. Starters include rolls with citrus honey butter and salad. The main course has turkey, flank steak (very much like LTT) and catfish (we opted not to have this). Also included is mashed pots, filling, fresh cranberry relish and assorted veggies. The veggies are really yummy... I think even better knowing they are grown within Epcot. We had our platters refilled once, but it's all you care to eat so ask for as much as you want!

For the kiddies: you guessed it...chicken strips, mac and cheese and FF. My kids ate mostly from our selection which they are allowed.

Desert is good, not great. It's bread pudding with Bailey's vanilla sauce. I like Ohana's version better. The kiddies get the most fun with a make it yourself cupcake. They are given an unfrosted cupcake, with cups of frosting, sprinkles, m&ms and of course a cherry to top it all off. My DDs loved this!

Overall, don't pass this ADR. You and your family will enjoy the GG!!! :)

Yea!!:yay: I made ADRs at GG for DS 8th b-day:bday: . Sounds like the food is really good. It seems the character interaction is great as well. I kind of started wondering if I should change and do something else but I'm sticking with GG. Thanks for the encouraging posts:thumbsup2 .

We went there in April 2006 and enjoyed it so much, we went back for a second time before going home. We had a fantastic server who wound Chip up so much about him smelling that they ended up doing karate at our table, much to the amusement of our kids. I have a fantastic photo that I'll try and post.

We've just booked again today for our next visit in October.

THey used to do an Ice Creame Social during the slow times between lunch and dinner. Every trip I call to see if it is still going on.
It was the best part of the whole trip.
The characters spent almost the whole time with us. Chip and Mickey fed my (at the time) 18 month old with a spoon.

they now longer do it,,, I was told because of the DDP and that it forced all Disney owned places to become pretty standard. (THe leased and lic. restaurants have more freedom.)

We really enjoy the Garden Grill. In fact, this June, we will be eating there for the fourth year in a row.

The characters are all dressed in the farmer clothing which is a nice change from the classic character clothing. It seemed to me that the characters at the Garden Grill interacted with the guests a little more than the other character meals we have eaten at.

The restaurant turns very slowly and you'll get peaks at a couple of scenes from The Land. It took us about an hour to eat and we had made one complete revolution.

The service was excellent. We tipped even though we were on the dining plan.

We also thought the food was very good. Husband fell in love with the citrus honey butter. I tried to make it at home but it's just not as good as the Garden Grill's. Last time we went, the dessert was a sampler plate. Anxious to try the new dessert.

Have a great time! Lisa

I would recommend that you try it. We were there in Feb '07 with my DD2. Not only did eat all of her lunch (which says a lot) but she loved the character interaction. She was occupied the entire time but still had time to eat. We enjoyed it and would do it again.

We ate there in 2005, and really enjoyed it. I thought the food was very good
and the characters were always interacting. The resturant revolves around scenes of THE LAND. I highly recommend it.

The Land is one of my fav attractions and it would be neat to eat some food actually grown in the attraction. I will have to tell DH, who is busily planning WDW 2008.
