Can anyone give me any information about the Ice Cream Social at The Garden Grill in Epcot? Is it every day? What characters are there? Is it worth the money? How long does it last? Any advice and help is appreciated. This seems like an inexpensive way to have a nice dessert plus the kids get to see some characters. What do you think??

We had a great time when we went in May. It was a great way to see the characters, and it was not crowded at all. I believe it was 6.95 pp and the ice cream was super!! I do believe it is every day and I thought there were only 2 PS times 3 and 3:15pm. We were there about 45 min...enough for one full rotation at Garden Grill LOL!! We were not rushed or anything, it was so odd to see so many tables empty. We saw Mickey and Pluto and I am pretty sure Chip & Dale were there.

It is definatley worth doing

:D Have a great trip!!

We love the Garden Grill but in comparing the price of eating a full meal to dessert only, we feel the meal is the better value. If our family of 5 ate elsewhere for lunch then had the ice cream social, our savings is about $20. However, if you aren't interested in having lunch there, I'd do the ice cream social. There were folks coming in for that while we were still there from lunch. The character interaction was great. We saw Mickey, Chip, and Dale.

It wasn't crowded when we went, and our young kids thought it was fantastic to see characters AND eat ice cream! This is a revolving restaurant -- the outer booths rotate past the various scenes of the Living with the Land boat ride. This way we had several things to do in the restaurant for the kids -- characters, ice cream and a view of the ride. We even went on this ride afterwards since there wasn't a line.

Also I've read on these boards that you can do a re-hitching ceremony there if you want to have a fun way to renew your vows. I didn't know about it at the time we went but I'm considering it for next time. Do a search for "re-hitching" and you should find all the info you need.

I may be in the minority, but we found this to be the biggest rip-off ever! I rarely say that about things Disney, but the ice-cream was pre-plated and had a freezer taste to it, the characters were too busy with the full price diners, and it took forever for them to seat us. With Drinks and the price of ice cream, tax and tip Dinner at Chef Mickey's was only $20.00 more for all four of us. We will NEVER do this again!:(
