Garden Grill Character Buffet .. yay or nay??

We are going Apr 3-8 with our almost 3 yr old dd. Do you think this is a good choice? We are also going to Crystal Palace which I have always loved. I have never been to Garden Grill though and am wondering what it is like.? Is it a buffet or family style? Advice needed please!!

Garden Grill is not a buffet; they serve family style at the table.

We did this last year, and the food wasn't very good...except the cook asked if we wanted some "magic" , and made us some of the BEST ribs I have ever tasted. Without those ribs the experience would have left a bad taste in my mouth. HaHa

We actually REALLY liked this place...good character interaction with Chip 'n Dale and Farmer Mickey if I remember correctly. The food was some of our favorite too, (roast turkey, pork and beef with many, many vegetable sides) although we weren't overly impressed with Disney food overall. The restaurant also rotates through the "Living with the Land" attraction, which is kind of cool.

I think it's good for younger kids. Give it a try.

This was the worst meal we have ever had at WDW. We did not like it. The characters were fun, but the food (except for dessert) was so abysmal we have no desire to return.

I didn't care for this character meal either....everything was just bland. Nothing special about the food or characters..it is actually a bit of a pain to squeeze in and out of the booths to give the characters a hug.

Since you will be in Epcot, consider Norway....where for the same 1 ts credit, you can meet 5 princesses and get a photo package. I was really impressed w/the friendly waitstaff and princesses...and nicely surprised by the complementary photo package.

We were just there a few weeks ago and had a great meal. The food was prepared very well (turkey was cooked PERFECTLY) and the character interaction there is top notch. Go for an earlier dinner ADR if possible...I tend to think that most people who have had bad food here probably were eating later on when the kitchen starts to get swamped. A rushed kitchen is inevitably going to effect the food quality.

We ate there during our last September trip and liked it a lot. Chip N Dale took my DD6 on a dance around the restaurant which was one of the highlights of our trip. We thought the food was pretty good. So obviously you're getting mixed reviews-- I say if it's convenient for where you'll be that day, go for it!

We ate here last March and it was the worst character dining experience that we have ever had. The time just seemed to keep dragging on and on. The service wasnt good and alot of the characters never even came around to our table We will not be eating there again

We have done all the character meals other than the Princess ones as I have boys and this is our favourite out of all of them.

We tried it for the first time last December and it was great. The BEST character interaction we have ever had. Mickey, Pluto, Chip and Dale came round at least 3 times and spent ages with us. They were so much fun too, we all loved it.
The food was fresh and tasty and plenty of it.

I wouldn't hesitate to recommend it to you.

We have done several meals at Garden Grill. The best was when they had breakfast. The food was good and the character interaction was great. Especially for my DS (11) at the time was just 3 and Chip sat down next to him and drank his milk. To this day my DS still talks about that. When we went in Aug07 we did the lunch. the food was ok. Not terrible and the dessert was great. They really do their best to make the kids happy and that is a plus in my book. I think you should give it a try. Good Luck and enjoy your trip.
