Garden Grill and motion sickness?

This is our 5th time to Disney World and still have not tried Garden Grill. So I am excited to give it a go this time around. I know that the restaurant rotates and am slightly concerned that my motion sickness prone DH may be affected by this. Has anyone else had any problems or will it not be anything to worry about? Thanks for your help!!

I have vertigo ... I can't even feel the room moving. If I didn't look up to see other scenery, wouldn't know.

We ate breakfast there this past October and I could not feel any movement at all. This was by far one of my favorite restaurants and my son loved the slowly rotating change of scenery. Him and several other boys were all into look at Living with the Land and Chip & Dale came up behind them all and were hanging out with them pointing and looking at stuff too!

It's really, really slow. As Hopper Fan said, if you weren't looking around, you probably wouldn't know you were moving. It's been quite a few years since we've been there, but I'm thinking the restaurant might make about 1-1 1/2 complete rotations during your meal. Coolest part is going by LWTL scenery.

It moves so slowly that you don't even know you're moving until you look up and notice you are in a different spot.
There should be no reason to think you'd get motion sick.

1) The "room" does rotate.
2) But, the movement is so slow, I have yet to see ANYONE become ill or nauseous.

NOTE: However, I did see this one guy become ill when his mother-in-law started up about something during the meal. They seemed to be going 'round-and-'round about things.
:cool1:

Just reaffirming what everyone has said here. I have motion sickness, and it doesn't take me much. I can even get it on BTMRR. I ate at GG, and the movement is barely noticeable. In fact, when we checked in, I had to look closely to see if the restaurant was indeed turning. Check out some videos of it online. The scenery almost looks like its at a standstill.

It truly moves so slow, you don't notice it at all. At least until you look at the "scenery" and notice you are in a different spot. A PP said the room spends too, I'm not convinced of that...part of the scenery is looking out into the building, the atrium where seasons and soaring are...

I am extremely sensitive to motion (carsick driving on windy roads and reading in car, can't think about riding tea cups, sometimes am bothered by Soarin' (but I love it), wear the patch on cruise ships, wanted to run out of Star Tours, sometimes get sick on a raft in the ocean :sad2:) Anyway, GG does not bother me at all. We eat there every year and love it.

Its a very slow mover, but enough that by the end of the meal I was feeling 'off'.

I have vertigo, and have eaten at GG because it is a very good character meal. I felt slightly off, and when trying to exist the restaurant may have looked like a drunken sailor. But all was well once I stepped off the platform. Not bad enough to stop me from going back.

Once was good enough for me lol

You don't even know you are moving. It's very slow. I get car sick very easily. Even going on swings at a playground makes my stomach feel off. But I didn't feel anything.

You will not even be aware! It's not like you are constantly looking out at one spot - after all you are eating, looking at your food, usually conversing with your seat mates, etc. Not near fast enough to cause any discomfort.

Some quick match says that at one revolution per hour (an estimate, but one that seems consistent across several sources I checked), you're getting 0.1 degrees of rotation per second. If that's enough to make you feel off, consider Dramamine or Bonine and seat yourself so that you're facing in to the middle rather than the outside, so you won't get the visual cues of motion.
