This morning we walked a block (with 3 kids in tow) to a garage sale where I found tons of Gymboree for my daughter (priced $1-$2 a piece!) and 2 Disney costumes (Nemo & Incredibles) for my son... both for $3 and from the Disney Store... score!

Congrats!

It's interesting that they're having a yard sale on a Thursday, though...

A lot them do the Thursday thing around here... usually Thursday, Friday, Saturday. Sometimes Wednesday night presales.

Weather is too awful around here to expect many sales this weekend. Rain, rain, rain, with a bit of wind added in.

However, I am still flying high on my purchase of a :The North Face" Windwall jacket for my son at a yard sale last week. Price = $10. MINT condition! (Retails for around $130 according to 6pm.com.) It was one thing I was really hoping to find this summer at a yard sale.
:thumbsup2 :goodvibes :woohoo:

Isn't that a great feeling? I would've bought so much more but my kids were starting to get antsy and my son ended up having a full blown hissy fit as we were checking out... crying all the way home over a .25 stuffed kitty cat... ugh...

Thursday are very popular here also. You can usually sell the most on a Thursday. Sundays are horrible, so mostly TH, FRI & SAT are the days to Garage Sale here. I am having one fri and sat, since DH wanted to mow the grass first lol.

I look like I could open my own store with all of the kids clothes for sale in my garage.

Great finds, too bad you don't live close to me lol. :)

I have to start going to garage sales again! I have scored some awesome stuff in the past!

I have a list of 16 sales tomorrow to hit up... I'm just hoping my 2 & 5 year old hold up okay... yikes! We're going to make a halfway break at the library so they have something to look forward to.

I have done several sales in the past years starting at 2p.m. on Thursday and closing at 7 or 7:30 p.m. and then all day Friday. Lots of people appreciate the fact that we are open late on week day rather than Saturday. business is generally good both days

My hometown is having "city"-wide yard sales Friday & Saturday this week-end (can it be called a city when the population is under 500:rolleyes:). My folks still live there so we have drug a lot of stuff down there. My youngest son will be running it Friday, I will go down a little later on Friday to help him, then Saturday it will be him & my mother running it. I am hoping to visit some of the other ones before I go help him. Unfortunatley we won't have any "big draws". My youngest kid is almost 18 so we don't have baby clothes and toys. It's mostly clothes and knick knacks.

Day one of my son's yard sale and he made about $80. Not too bad considering what we had to offer. I didn't get any big finds, but did pick up a box of Mickey Mouse notecards, and a couple of the little plastic Mickey figures (one a chef, and one a clown) for a total of $2.

I found 2 more Disney dresses today (Tiana & Tinkerbell) both for $3 a piece so now we have 4 princess dresses and I only paid $10 total for all 4 of them. I guess that's better than $240 it would've been had I bought them at the Disney store... lol.

I also found 2 costumes. One was a Nemo & one was an Incredible outfit... both I'm sure very expensive and together it only came to $5 :) I feel like I'm on a Disney roll lately...

I went for the first time in weeks today... with my 2-year-old DS. He seemed to have a great time until he fell asleep. LOL! I got him some McDonald's as a treat (We hardly ever get fast food.) and now he's happily playing with his new truck. We found him Gus the Talking Garbage Truck http://www.amazon.com/Hasbro-90196-Tonka-Chuck-Friends/dp/B000GY0FXW/ref=pd_sxp_f_r. For those of you familiar with the current Tonka toys, Gus is a friend of Chuck's. :goodvibes It was $3, which is more than I usually spend for toys, but DS is alllllllll about the trucks at this age, and this was by far the best truck we came across today.

I also got him a new (still shrink wrapped) Memory game for $1. (Hey, it's even better than on Black Friday!)

For me, I got two things. The first was a brand new cast iron dutch oven (about 4 quarts, I think) for $5! It's not my usual Lodge brand ("Classic" seems to be the brand.), but for $5, I couldn't go wrong.

I'm also excited that I found a Tupperware egg scoop for 50 cents. It's just like this one: http://cgi.ebay.com/Tupperware-NEW-...456?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item48364d23f8 For those unfamiliar, this works great at getting Easter eggs out of the cup after they're done sitting in the dye. I have a few already, and I was psyched to find one more. It's an item not sold through the catalog, so yard sales are usually the only places I find them except for the occasional Tupperware party where they have a bunch of gadgets they give out for free.

Other than that, I bought NOTHING. However, I scored a huge Little Tikes toy box for free at the recycling shed at the dump and also got a bunch of fake food. Sweet!
