Having a garage sale next weekend. I recently came across some old VHS tapes and PC games (most have a min requirement Windows 95/98).

I am almost embarrassed to even to put these out. Any suggestions on what I should price them? :confused3

We sold a ton of VHS movies at our yard sale in June for 25 cents each.

VHS tapes should sell- our library sells them for $1 a tape, and plenty of people buy them. Our local thrift store also has a lot of them, and they seem to sell pretty well. I would put them out and see what happens- the worst case is that they don't sell, in which case you can donate them.
I don't know much about the PC games, but I'd say put them out and see what happens.
Good luck with your garage sale!

VHS I wouldn't do more than a buck or two. A lot of people don't have working VHS players anymore and they're hard to find.

Computer games less than $5, particularly if we're talking Windows 95/98 as there will be comparability issues with new machines. You may have to go down to a dollar on a lot of them. Honestly I can get games that are less than a year old for under $10 or $5 by playing sales right online so they will have to be good titles to sell for much at all.

Can I ask what you have? I might be able to help with if any of them are particularly popular/rare and might be better off going on craigslist or something.

We sold our Disney VHS movies for $1 each, all others 25 cents each. Didn't have any problems getting rid of them. Not sure how well old PC games would do.

If they are cheap enough I might get them. The kids don't care and it is cheaper than renting.

I don't buy many anymore though.

Computer Games $1 (I would personally only pay more if it was a newer game)

for VHS, I would price at .25 - .50 cents if you want them to sell, at a dollar you'll sell some but not nearly as many.

Same here, we sold almost all of ours. DH had kept all of the PC game boxes and so we put them all in there boxes.

I donated all of ours (kept a few Disney ones from when DS was a toddler just because of memories) to our local thrift shop.

Most VHS tapes go for about .25- .50 around here. Just keep in mind that children's hospitals LOVE to get VHS (and DVD) donations for kids who are in the hospital! When DD was 13 weeks old, she was in the hospital from Dec. 24-27. She was too young to watch, but it helped save my sanity! They took all kinds of movies from Blues clues, Disney, and even older stuff for parents/teens.

We sold VHS tapes for 10 cents each. We sold them all. I wanted them gone and out of the basement so mission accomplished. So people out there must still be watching them.
