Our family has discovered a new game that you can play with the chat feature of Disney's Magical Gatherings software. We call it "Find the mostly harmless words that it censors!" You'll type in a sentence and press the enter key and often there's a "***" somewhere in the posted version of your sentence. Here's the list so far:
"hot" (Apparently they don't want people to know about the weather in the Orlando area),
"blow",
"group" (I'm totally lost on this one!),
"love" (but "lover" is OK),
"spank" (but "beat" is OK, go figure!),
"come",
"bottom",
"hard",
... add your own!
OK, I admit that almost all of the words above can be used in certain contexts that aren't very family friendly. I also can't wait for the first time my very proper MIL gets on to chat with us and types something like "After we get back from the park, I'd love to come over to your room." and it comes out "After we get back from the park, I'd *** to *** over to your room." and I have to explain to her that the reason that they edited her post what that Disney thought she was talking dirty! Ironically, one of the side effects is to teach my kids about words that have double meanings. I wimped out when my daughter asked me why in the world they'd "*" one of them!
