I'm sorry you can't go to DW this year. I think everyone should go AT LEAST once a year! I went in Jan of this year so this is twice this year for me. Your DH must be a very dedicated man to go through that. I don' know how they get anyone to run for public office. You could not pay me enough $$ to be the president!

I'll guess Streets of NY on this. Could you give us a larger crop before you go to Maine (lucky you!). Isn't it nice being in a northern latitude while the rest of the country bakes? Poor Goopy!

Going to Maine ... if there were a "sticking out your tongue" icon I'd use it! The old "jealousy monster" is rearing it's head. Think about the rest of us as you enjoy the wonderful weather there!

You hit the "nail on the head"! So sad for our country; "dedicated" is the key word in your statement. Sad thing is there are a lot of dedicated, GOOD, SMART people out there that would be perfect to serve our country but no one wants to go through the abuse anymore. DH is 2 years from retirement so upcoming election is very important for us! THEN we COULD to to DW every year!

Also...thanks for the "poor Goopy" comment! As I sit here the "air temp" outside is 97; thermometer in the sun says 115!!! PLUS...our yearly rainfall is behind 25-30"; yes, 25-30"! We're really suffering down here; having to put the soaker hoses on established, OLDER, trees overnight in an attempt to save them. Seeing WAY to many dead trees around.

I will be thinking of you when I'm on the beach I will be at the softball fields on Sat and Sun. DD has a tournament, decided to make a long weekend out of it and go to the beach and visit my parents at their camp.

HAVE FUN! We'll be going to south Texas this weekend for best friends wedding...and probably add another 5-6 degrees to temp. down there. Your get-away sounds pretty inviting!

I KNEW your picture was a familiar one! Took pictures around that area on last visit...guess that's why it was so "stuck in my head"! But, then, I took pictures in lots of areas! Travel safe..........

I sure don't envy you being in TX Goopy. I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE it up here in eastern WA state!! We are having the best summer EVER. I think it got up to 70 (SEVENTY!) today! We've had lots of rain (which is unusual for E WA) my gardens are looking better and better. And I love the snow. So clean and quiet and me in here by the woodstove.

WOW...that's my idea of Heaven! 70 in the morning; RAIN; snow and a woodstove! We use our fireplace ALL winter and I love, love, love it! It's 12:30 AM now and the outside temp. is still 80...and it feels COOL! My doggies are as happy as can be in the backyard! I LOVE my State; born and raised here but the summers can be hard to deal with! Enjoy those cool temps.
