Heres some examples:

If Yoko Ono married Sonny Bono she'd be Yoko Ono Bono
If Snoop Doggy Dog married Winnie the Pooh he'd be Snoop Doggy Dogg Pooh.

Tradionally, yes. But today many girls choose not to take their husbands names. Ive even heard of some guys changing their last names. Today about anything goes.
