Game Boy Advance SP Question

For those of you who own the GBA SP, can you tell me how long the rechargeable battery lasts? We will be flying from Italy to NY, via London and I would love to know if the battery will last throughout the trip.

It states 10 hours without the light on. My son usually gets about 7-8 hours with the light on. I think it should be fine.
