I'm training for my first race longer than a 5k which will be the Wine and Dine half in October. I'm wondering about Galloway's magic mile race pace predictor. He says for every 5 degrees over 60 degrees you should add 30 seconds to your predicted race pace. What if the temperature when I do the magic miles is in the low to mid 80s? Should I still add time to my pace for temperatures over 60 degrees?
Regardless, I haven't used his predictor but I do notice that my time does suffer a bit when it gets too warm. Likewise, it seems to go the other way for me at least. I don't like being too cold either!
