I just booked one night (June 14th) at the Galleria Palms Orlando. It got pretty good review on trip advisor. I was wondering if anyone has stayed there? We just need a clean, inexpensive place the night before our reservation at AKL starts. We are driving from Virginia, so we could stay within 30 minutes or so of the AKL area and be fine. All suggestions are appreciated!

We have stayed here many (6) times- last time in Feb 2009
Normally Just 1 night if we can't get on Disney property

Besides Disney resorts I think it was the CLEANEST place I have ever stayed.
we have NEVER had a dirty room

We normally get the king suite and it has a fridge, microwave and really, really nice bathroom.
We have never eaten at the Buffett for breakfast - we hit the Golden Corral down the road:)but it smells good when we have gone by.

The pool area is small- I don't really think of this as a *family* resort that I would want to stay at for more than a night, maybe 2 if needed.

Front desk people are efficient- but maybe not REALLY friendly- they just do their job quickly and there isn't a lot of really being friendly but they are polite and helpful.

Hope this helps:)

My husband and I stayed there last May and I was really pleased to get such a nice room for such a great price. They do offer a AAA discount so be sure to ask for that, if you're a AAA member.

The hotel used to be a "Hampton Inn". If you know what those buildings look like, you know exactly what the Galleria Palms looks like.

The continental breakfast was sufficient - it included hard boiled eggs and was enough to get us rolling in the morning.

We thought the hotel was nearly empty when we were there but then saw an entire tour bus fill up one morning so there must be some sound insulation.

We didn't use the pool but did look at it and it is small.

You're in the Hwy 192 area which is a little "tacky tourist-y". I've heard people say that they didn't feel safe but I've stayed in the area numerous times because we typically stay at Windsor Hills when we're there with the whole family and I've never felt like I was in a problem area. There are fast food and resonably priced restaurants (Sizzler, Golden Corral, K-Bob, etc.) nearby. You're super close to the Animal Kingdom.

I've recommended the hotel to others and would happily stay there again.

Thanks everyone....I'll quit worrying about it now. I got a rate of $59 which I was very pleased with. We'll probably get the breakfast, just because we can, but we'll be anxious to get to AKL, get our tickets, and get our Disney vacation started!
