Gallbladder and hernia surgery????

Anyone have any idea what the recovery time is from having gallbladder and hernia surgery? I know someone who is about to have both procedures done and I was just wondering what she will be up against. Anyone have these procedures done?

Depends on what type of hernia, and whether the surgery will be laparoscopic or not. I was back to work a week after my gallbladder surgery, DH took 2 weeks for his umbilical hernai repair.

It will be laproscopic.

I've had both procedures done. The gall bladder surgery is nothing. I felt fine within two days. The recovery rate of the hernia repair depends on where it is at. I had a triple umbilical hernia and recovery was rough the first few days. I was pretty much back to normal activities at two to three weeks, but it took about five or six months before I stopped feeling the occasional tugging of the mesh implant. I've been told that umbilical repairs are the most difficult.

I have had both, the umbilical hernia when I was 6 months pregnant. I think both were about the same time for me but for different reasons. The hernia, because I was pregnant and had a drain and the gall bladder due to some previous stomach surgeries including above as well as the infection prior to having it out! I think about 2 weeks for both, although with gall bladder he wanted me out of work, and I sit, for about 3-4 weeks???
