What can anyone tell me about gall bladder pain? I've been in severe pain for the past 2 weeks, in & out of the ER and to my doctor. Finally, they are sending me to a specialist tomorrow because my Dr. thinks my gall bladder may not be functioning properly. Also, anyone with gb pain experience rash, hives or severe itching?

Any help would be very appreciated.

I had my Gall Bladder over a year ago...I wasnt in alot of pain but I was in pain, well more discomfort especially after I ate greasy foods...The pain was isolated to the right side of my abdomen in line with my belly button...general area anyway...

The did an ultr sound and saw a giant stone...actually tthe lady doing it said it was the biggest she had seen and thought I would be in more pain...I have a high threshold for pain...:confused3

Anyway I had the surgery to remove within 2 weeks and was back at work a week later....the surgery was simple 4 small holes..i under belly button, 1 about 2 -3 inches above, 1 about inach and a half above and to the right and the 4th about an inch past that...you cant see the 3 anymore away from my Belly Button, the one under my Belly Button was a bit bigger than the other 3 and is visible....after the surgery was very uncomfortable because of the air they blow you up with...you really need to walk that off....also removing the bandaids got me light headed for somereason...not sure why....but the worst part of all of it ahs benn the constant Diarreah afterwards, mainly immediatley after I eat....its calld Salt Bile Dirreah...basically what the Gall Bladder processed...Its very common and I still have it almost 2 years later...it makes it hard to go out to eat....especially if I eat a steak....

It could be a Kidney stone which i hear is very painful...never had one...knock on wood....but know several grown men who have had and it ruins them...

whatever it turns out to be good luck and I hope everything turns out ok

My friend is having problems related to her gallbladder and started a thread about it.

It took me a bit to dig it up, but hope it helps :goodvibes

Hello, I am the Friend she speaks of, and I just wanted to say I have never had any rashes or anything. Maybe that is unrelated to your stomach/gb problems :confused3

Either way, good luck! I know how you feel!! I'm still waiting on results from my most recent test (HIDA scan) It's miserable!

My gallbladder pain was severe. Actually I was weird because it was mainly in my back. I did hurt some in my abdomen but not nearly as much as in my back. I had back labor pain with DS as well. I didn't have any kind of rash though.

I had a large stone as well and had the same 4 hole surgery except that my biggest hole was actually in my belly button. It was the easiest surgery ever and the pain is GONE! I do still have the urgency to use the bathroom but it was so worth it.

Good luck!

My DH has been having some gallbladder issues lately, I think I will send him over here to chat. He had HIDA scan and it showed that his gallbladder isn't doing what its supposed to do.... but he hasn't gone to the specialist again since then.... I better tell him to call
