We are making blankets for the Linus Project (ours will be going to Haiti)...3 of us are signed up..so we'll get 3 vouchers..which we want to exchange for FastPass....the rules say that you can exchange a voucher for FP for up to 5 people in your party...there will be 4 of us.
First - can we exchange all 3 vouchers at once, each one getting us 4 FP's for a total of 12? Or would we have to do them separately..one day at a time?
Second - do the FP's have to be used all in one day? or can we save them for the rides with the longest lines in each park?
TIA,

First

1- can we exchange all 3 vouchers at once, each one getting us 4 FP's for a total of 12?

2- would we have to do them separately..one day at a time?

3- do the FP's have to be used all in one day? or

4- can we save them for the rides with the longest lines in each park?

1- Yes.
2- That would be another way to do it (and likely a "better" way, in many cases.)
3- Yes. Only on the day that you redeem your voucher.

4- Nope.
And, you need to know that:
A- Not all attractions at WDW offer or accept FP.
B- You will be given FP's that are only good at a set of specific attractions.

And to add to Robo's response, the Fastpass Exchange Cards are valid the day of issue only and at the issuing park only.

Ah..ty for info - important to know! SO we will pick 3 of the 4 parks and do the fp's one voucher each day.
I'm thinking MK, DHS and Epcot since the lines at AK never seem to huge to me..we can fp with our regular tickets for kilimajaro and everest.
That way we won't have to go crazy trying to get on Soarin' (my Fav!), Toy Story Mania (7 yr old daughters Fav!) or Space Mountain (can't wait to see it redone - was closed in July when we were there last)....Feb 23rd...here I come!!!

Is there a list somewhere of what attractions the GAD FastPass will cover for each park?

Is it kind of like the Dream FastPass from a few years ago?

Also, will there be a limit on the number of GAD FPs issued each day at each park?

Thanks!

Don't forget to use your regular tickets to get fps too! That way you get double rides on all your Favs!! :thumbsup2 WHOOOO! HOOOOO!:banana:

1- See the info HERE.

2- Only very remotely. Lots of differences.

3- Disney reserves the right to "limit" them, and they ask that you to
collect them by 11AM each day, but...
I have never seen a report (last year's Birthday promotion had the same FP "rules") of someone wanting the special FP's (regardless of where or what time) and not receiving them.

:woohoo: We got our "Give a Day. Get a Disney Day." vouchers today. Just in time for our WDW trip. We leave tomorrow morning!!!!

We got five vouchers and donated one. We are Annual Passholders. So, we plan to take advantage of the FP option too. It worked out so great for DH's birthday last year. I can't wait to do it our whole vacation. We'll have one voucher to redeem at each park. DH will be so happy, he doesn't have to do the Toy Story Mania 500 this trip. :rotfl:

:thumbsup2 All of your questions have been answered. In case you have more, there's a FAQ section on the "Give a Day. Get a Disney Day." website.

Check it out HERE.

Have fun! Let us know if anything changed at AK - I don't think anyone has reported on that one yet...

I come to you, O Robo, knower of all things Disney, to answer my questions. :)

I read the link you posted and was a little confused by the Donald/Daisy part. Does that mean you get the Donald or a Daisy set when you put your voucher in a FP kiosk, depending on what's been loaded for that day? In each case based on that website, I'd want the Donald set, but there's no guarantee of that. I also, for the record, wouldn't complain about free FPs; I just like the Donald rides better.

And when the Donald/Daisy set pops out, it will have 5 FPs for each of those rides, or it will have one FP that covers 5 people? (The second option seems the more logical one, but I wasn't sure.)

Lastly, we have a trip planned for December of this year. We aren't arriving until December 27, so if we do the GAD this spring or summer and get the voucher, we still wont' be able to redeem it since the program ends on the 15th, or will we be able to redeem them if we've gotten them by then - we just can't do the GAD after the 15th?

Thanks!

1- For a better answer, I suggest that you ask the SOURCE of that link's info, DISer doconeill, who has also posted in this very thread. :thumbsup2
2- That's correct, based on the CURRENT rules for this promotion.
3- (Again) That's correct, based on the CURRENT rules for this promotion.
But, you never know if they will change or extend the deadline, or blackout dates.
(But, I would guess that it is HIGHLY UNLIKELY that they would drop the blackout between Dec. 24 and Dec. 31,
traditionally the busiest time at WDW.)
Stay tuned.

And I'm here... :)

The attractions are simply divided into two groups, called Donald and Daisy. This is only for limitation purposes, as the Fastpass Exchange Card will only get you X (where X appears to be three currently) total out of all the attractions in each category.

Probably easier to explain by example. Let's take Epcot, as it is easier to explain:

  • Epcot
    • Donald: Soarin', Test Track
    • Daisy: Honey, I Shrunk the Audience, Living with the Land, Maelstrom, Mission: SPACE

So there are two attractions in the Donald group, and 4 in the Daisy group. You get 3 (or whatever it is that day) FPs for the Donald Group, and 3 for the Daisy group. So think of it as having 3 Donald FPs, and 3 Daisy FPs, which you can use on any of the attractions in the appropriate group. They are just contained electronically on the card, which you need to convert to a proper FP at a kiosk.

You do not choose them in advance at all.

So, you can go up to the FP kiosks at Soarin', use the FP card and get an immediate Fastpass for it. Then you can go over to Test Track and do the same thing. And then go back to Soarin' and get another. At that point, you've used up your allotment of 3 Donald FPs.

You could instead just stay at Soarin' and use it three times if you wanted.

In addition, you also have 3 Daisy FPs, which you can use in any combination you wish in the same way at the 4 attractions listed.

So helpful!!! Thanks for taking the time to answer my post (and thanks to you, too, Robo). Unfortunately for you, I still have a couple of questions, so I hope you don't mind my picking your brain a bit more.

1) So with each GAD voucher we get, we turn that voucher into Guest Services and get the FP Exchange Card. Then we put that exchange card into a FP machine, and we get a Donald set AND a Daisy set? That's very generous if that's true!!!

2) We take the FP exchange card and get Soarin' FPs. Do we now have 5 Soarin' FPs, or do we have one FP that allows 5 people to enter the FP line? And then we can use our other 2 allotted FPs for Soarin' again or for Test Track, depending on what combination we personally want.

Sorry - this is probably easier to understand than I'm making it out to be!

1) Yes. Each person in your party you will be given a separate GAD FP card to use.
2) 5 individual FP's (because you will EACH be given a separate GAD FP card to use.)

Not exactly. First, you need only turn in one GAD voucher, and everyone in your party (up to a declared 6 guests, although with the Birthday promotion they often allowed more) gets a FP Exchange Card.

EACH FPXC is good to get 3(*) instant FPs from Donald attractions, and 3 from Daisy attractions. When you put it in a FP kiosk for the appropriate attraction, the kiosk spits out exactly ONE FP, for that attraction, assuming you still have credits left.

* This number subject to change

When you take ONE card and put it in a Soarin' FP kiosk, you get ONE FP for Soarin', and you've used one "Donald credit" of your three. The other guests in your group can do the same, or they can choose different attractions.

You then still have 2 Donald credits left on that card. You can use it two more times at Soarin', or use them at Test Track.

I think I'm liking the "credit" explanation the more I think of it. I may rewrite some stuff...

I think I get it now! So we use one voucher and get 2 FPXC (since there are two of us in our party who did the GAD promotion). We can each use this to access 3 Donald credits AND 3 Daisy credits in that park on that day, in any combination we want (for Epcot, all 3 on Soarin' and then all 3 on Mission:Space, respective of their associated Donald/Daisy status). Have I finally gotten it?

Yes...although it doesn't matter how many in your group volunteered for the GAD promotion - it is the number of people in your group as a whole.

Between working on my taxes and reading about the GAD vouchers, my head is spinning.

However, this is very, very helpful! Great questions and excellent answers! Thanks everyone.

P.S. Now that the Fast Pass questions have been answered, I don't suppose you guys are accountants?
