We get a GAC for my DS who has autism in WDW and have never had a problem. I explain his needs and they are very kind to help out.

Does DL have a GAC? What do I need to get one at DL? A Dr. note or just and explanation of needs? Do we enter the attractions the same as WDW, Fast Pass line?

I am sorry for all the questions but we might do a quick trip down.

What was the process at WDW? A few years back, Matt Ouimet put the GAC process in place at DL so it was the same at WDW and DL.

I'm not sure if that's the same as someone in a wheelchair or not, but many rides at DL make you go to the exit if you have a wheelchair or ECV. Not sure what the protocol is with a GAC!

We went to guest relations outside the park, explained my DS needs, not being in line with people, he needs to be up front at shows for the sensory or else he just withdrawls, Autism, stroller as wheelchair.

The gave us a card with several stamps that shows his needs and when we have alternative entrance, they sent us thru the FP line.

I know we should just go and wing it but with an autistic child we must plan.

Thanks for the help in advance!

No, you are right! I never recommend going and winging it, planning helps immensely!! I would definitely call to get an exact answer so you are prepared, but I imiagine it will be the same as WDW!!

Hi tacomaranch!

I've followed your DVC situations on those boards. Glad you're come over to the other side!!:rotfl:

Can't help you on the GAC, but I'm sure they will work with you at DL. Just wanted to say welcome to the DL DIS!

The procedures at Disneyland are quite similar to WDW, though I believe you obtain the GAC at City Hall rather than at Guest Relations. No doctor's note required - simply explain the child's needs as you have described them here, and they'll give you a pass. My co-worker's daughter is autistic, and they've gotten the GAC several times for her with no problems.
