I am a big girl, nearly 400lbs. I went to Disney last year and had so much fun, but it was really hard on me and we didn't get to do as much as I wanted to do. The kids had fun but I felt bad that I wasn't really able to keep up with them. My sister told me last week that on this trip I should ask about a GAC. I had never heard of these, so I did a little bit of research. It looks like these are more for people who can't stand in long lines for medical issues not necessarily because of a weight issue. Am I right or wrong? I definately don't want to cheat anyone and last year I did rent a scooter one of the days and was thinking about it this time too, I just don't like having to do that either. What do you all think?:confused3

Post #6 of the disABILITIES Board has pretty full information about Guest Assistance Cards. You can find that thread near the top of this board or follow the link in my signature.

They do not really help much with people who are physically not able to stand in line - in fact, for those situations, WDW recommends renting a wheelchair or ECV.
GACs are not meant to shorten the wait in line (that is printed right on the GAC card) and do not provide a place to sit (you may be able to get a wheelchair to use in some lines). GACs also do not usually shorten the distance walked in line.

A GAC could help you if you need to avoid stairs in the few attractions that have stairs, but I see very little else that a GAC would help you with.
If you rent a scooter, you will be able to take the scooter in almost all lines.
