Recently back from DLR. When we arrived, I stopped by the Town Hall to get a GAC for my Autistic DS. To my surprise, they not only gave me the GAC but handed me a pamphlet that detailes exactly how to use the card, where it can and can not be used, as well as details of the proper entrance to use for all rides.

This was very helpful, and a nice touch. We're ol' pro's at WDW, but we were a little unsure of things at DLR. This answered all questions.

Also...I highly recomend DLR. There are enough different rides, and even differences in your old favorites to make it a great trip. It was for us !!

That's very interesting and I think it is a good idea.
The first few times we got GACs at WDW, the CM spent some time explaining those things to us. They didn't have anything in writing, but it was good to have some idea of what the expectations were (both what was expected of us and what to expect from the CMs).

Both my son and my husband get GAC's. DH's GAC has a couple more stamps than DS. When we go with DH we actually use different entrances (or exits) than my DS. It is very useful with the pamphlet though because you know right where to go and don't have to walk up to different CMs asking "where do I go with this?"

The GAC covers your whole party (5+person with GAC)- why doesn't your whole family use the same GAC (for the person with the most needs)?

I think a good reason would be from time to time the entire family is not together. If Bsbllmom is with her son and not her husband they will have a correct GAC. If she is with her husband and not her son they will also have a correct GAC. If the son is with someone else, again the correct people will have a correct GAC.

Just what I was going to write.

I know there are situations where the members of the party will never split up; for them one GAC for the person with the most needs work out well. For situations where they might split up, one might not work.

Also, the son may go on some attractions that the dad doesn't go on (or vice versa). Since the person the GAC was issued to needs to be in the line, if dad had a GAC, but wasn't riding, son might not be able to ride.

I completely understand... it was just how it was worded made me believe that they were using 2 GACs for the family on the same ride (mentioned different entrances or exits).

Oh no, I'm sorry it took so long to reply I was trying to find Big Brother. We never split up. There are times when it is DH, myself and both DSs. Then there are other times that it is just me and the boys. That is how we use different GACs. Sorry if there was some confusion. That is how I know that there are alternate enterances to the alternate enterances.:)

Oh I never thought of that. DH's we use all the time. DS's is on an as needed basis. Usually we don't use it but sometimes he needs it. But I never thought of us splitting up. It will be a while before we do that though.
