We have been vacationing at Disney World with my DS who has Autism/ADHD for the past 5 years...we always get a GAC and have had nothing but wonderful experiences.

We would like to try out Universal to see Harry Potter...and I am not getting a straight answer from them about them having a similar type of situation with a GAC...this was part of my response from them

Our resort has been carefully designed, and our staff specifically trained, to provide equal accessibility to all of our guests. As a courtesy to our guests with special needs, various types of assistance passes are available. Please visit Guest Services upon your arrival so that we may arrange to meet your individual requirements. I also recommend that you visit http://www.universalorlando.com/Images/RidersGuideUpdateFlyer_tcm13-10940.pdf for our Rider’s Guide to Rider Safety and Guests with Disabilities.

Anyone have experience with an ASD kid at Universal? I don't want to spend all that money to get into the park and then end up having a terrible time!

Thanks in advance!

My son has ASD and we had a fab time the provison is not the same as Disney but it does exist!! I will pm you what we were offered and how it worked as I believe its frowned upon to go into too much detail incase it is abused??:confused3:confused3

Would you mind PMing me as well? DH has been trying (unsuccessfully) to plan a Universal trip in the middle of our next Disney trip this Dec. DD greaks out with new places and loves Disney. DH shows her YouTube videos of US and she says she wants to go but....
Thanks!

If you look in the disABILITIES FAQa thread, one of the posts is about Universal and includes information about their version of the Guest Assistance Card, plus a link to their rider's guide. I got the information from a person who works in Guest Relations at Universal.

The disABILITIES FAQs thread is near the top of this board or you can follow the link in my signature to get there.
