I was thinking of venturing into DQ this trip to use a "plus" from our tickets instead of at a waterpark... my son LOVES all things videogames- but I'm worried about how he will handle it. Does anyone have any experience here with a kid on the autistic spectrum? We usually get the GAC card and have only used it for "emergencies" where no fastpass was available. Are there fastpasses at DQ? can you in any way use the GAC there? How do the games actually work? is it a "card / point" system like at Chuck E Cheese? I've heard the lines can get very long on rainy / cold days- so we will avoid going then... any help / tips greatly appreciated!

:santa:

I don't think at GAC can be used at Disneyquest. I can tell you that DQ can be loud and crowded and very stimulating. I took my step son there once and it was tooooo much for him.

I have not been to Disneyquest, but I have seen other people post what livndisney did; that it was very noisy and stimulating.

The GAC says on it that it is just for the Theme Parks, so I don't think it would be used at Disneyquest.

At disney quest you pay to get in and then things are free inside. There are floors of video games and simulator games.

Its been a while since I've been to disney quest, a couple years.
Cheesecake factory i believe is on the top floor.

The bottom floor has the "big" interactive games. The paddling raft ride, the pirate ride and some other things.
One of the floors has the VR alladin ride (tried once, but had to stop mid adventure because of motion sickness).

There is an area of the classic video games.

They have the basketball shot up games, ski ball, lots of other things.

At one point there was a floor with pay games (tokens) and you could get tickets to win things. I'm not sure if that was done away with or not.

I don't really know anything about autism, but if your son does ok in a place like chuck e cheese, or those other video game places, then he would probably do fine there. Although if you always go to the same chuck e cheese and he has familiarity with it, it could be a huge stimulating environment.

The place is loud, is darky lit because of all the games. I'm not sure if using earplugs would help w/ the noise issue.

I have to agree w/ the don't go if the weather is nasty outside, it will be super crowded w/ lines and it can be frustrating. It can be frustrating since everything is free, you can basically place as long as you want w/ the game you are on.
