This past trip I did the HM twice.. once no problems.. they just let me on.. second time.. no CM around to let me skip the stretching room.. she was busy entering the room with wheelchair guests and then never came out for me :confused3 I was with 2 other people in my party. My friends daughter opened the door for me to go down the hallway as I could not even see the handle (as usual) for the door. We went down, out back in and up to the next CM. I told her about entering the dark holding room, no CM to allow me through etc.. she states that was odd.. I agree. Then she said to go into the main line. I told her no, I go the other way.. she states that's only for wheelchair guests. The doors open up (which would have been the group I would have been in had I done stretching room) and wheelchair guests come. I figure OK, she will take me with that group. They go.. I am still standing there. She states again.. only for wheelchair and again I said that I have a vision problem etc etc... yadda yadda.. another room opened up.. and they come out. She tells me to move to the side so she can get them out. She takes the next group of wheel chair guests ... then comes back to me and states it would be faster for me if I went the though the regular line. I explained to her that I don't care about the wait, I cannot see very well and when I am in that crowd, I tend to be pushed and shoved etc... she then says OK what ever.. and brings me through.... so not so magical once again.... maybe this is the change they are speaking of on here.. they will all be in sync on how GAC should be used.. :confused3 hopefully that is is... seems HM CM's still have not been trained properly... I don't know...

I guess we making a little progress maybe a couple more years and calls to Disney management you could ride twice with no problem. Sorry to hear your still having problems with that ride I hope they fix it soon.

:goodvibes thanks.. I really honestly have given up.. until some major changes are made, I don't think those at the HM will ever realize that the unloading dock is not just for wheelchair guests.... it is for anyone who cannot go through the standard loading area.... :sad2: Once again, they were the only ones who gave me a problem... I just don't get it with that attraction... :confused3

Not that I'm trying to be negative but HM is the one attraction we have issues with as well.

I know most do...... that was why I posted an update.. to let all know that not much has changed... the only ones that do no have any issues going to the unloading dock is wheelchair.. everyone has issues going through the holding area.. that I know.. Some have issues going into the stretching room too.. I just don't get what is up at that attraction.. it isn't like the lines are long and any of us are trying to be line jumpers.. we wait longer to do the unloading dock yet we still get the 3rd degree...:confused3 Waiting longer should be the clue that you need it... or you would jump at the chance to go on a faster line.....:sad2:

I have to say that we have never had any sort of problem skipping the stretching room and going through the wheelchair access line even when not with my mum who uses a ECV "we also get a GAC for my son who is not a wheelchair/ECV user". We have just shown the GAC and been let through.

This said we have not been since 2010 so we will see if we encounter any problems when we go this trip.

There has been a change since 2010.
They got ride of the turnstiles at the entrance to the building and now guests with wheelchairs and ECVs are able to go into the stretching room.

There used to be a bypass before the line entered tbe building that led to the exit. That bypass was by the hearse and has been closed. So, entry into the building is not the way it used to be.
