I know they don't have housekeeping unless you want to pay. Is there a place where you can throw out your trash everyday? Thanks

depending where you stay there are trash rooms available at all the DVC's.
They do a trash and towel day on the 4 day

Each DVC resort has a trash closet or room tucked away in a fairly convenient place. Just ask the desk when you check in for the location.

I have asked before and the front desk just told me to leave the bag outside our door when it was full and housekeeping would take it away. (this was at both SSR and OKW)

So that's what we do. It's never still been there at night when I've left it out in the morning.

We always find the trash room, usually not very far away from where you are staying.

Leaving trash out in the hall just isn't cool. The visual and smell is not good.

The trach in the hall was one of my biggest issues at BWV. The other pet peeve was the hotel type feel to the place.

The few times we rented points before we bought, we always brought our trash to the trash room. ALso they have bins if you want to recycle as well. We always do both. We never knew to put the garbage outside the door, but we'd never do that.

I suggest then the staff at SSR and OKW TELL me where the trash room is! I was TOLD to do that by the CMs and the trash up and disappears rather quickly so why would I think I should do any different?

I asked where the trash room was, from the replies of 'I should have known there was a trash room someplace', well I know there is one someplace but clearly I have a 'don't tell her where' stamped on my forehead!

I'm not about to spend any extra time tramping around a building in hopes of finding a room that I was told wasn't there. :snooty:

I have to say that the attitude that I should have known better is still p'ing me off.(sorry but it really is!) I assumed there was a trash room because in less than 4days we had too much trash for that tiny kitchen can. When asking about it (like I said in my 1st post) I was told there is no trash room and that I just needed to put it outside. Other than thinking my family must create a ton of trash to not get through 4days what else was I to take from those replies? No trash room means no trash room.

5:23pm~ sorry for being snippy. I actually agree trash in the hallways looks yuck but I clearly had no idea it was incorrect.

We simply call Housekeeping when we need to get rid of the trash and ask where the trash room is. They've told us we could leave it in the hallway or put it in the trash room, but we wouldn't leave trash in the hallway at our personal home, so we won't leave it in the hallway at our Disney home either so we put it in the trash room.

I'm just glad the OP asked. I was going to have to ask myself to find out! :)

You quoted me, but I never said a thing about you or what you were doing. I simply stated that we bring our trash and water bottles to the trash room. My DH does this every day or so. Both times it has been just down the hall not to far away and he went to look for it. I also stated that we didn't even know that we COULD put it outside our door if we wanted to. I have never seen this done. (so i learned something new today)

I really do not care what other people do, I was stating what WE do. I don't know where your anger came from...but it should not be directed towards me.

If a CM had told me to put it outside when I called, we may very well have done so. Dh just had already found the trash room when looking for Ice for me.

The trash and vending room locations are indicated on the resort map that you get when you check in.

We don't like leaving it in the hall because during our last stay at SSR, the Mousekeepers left a bag of trash outside our door and it was there for 3 days. Every day I would call to get it removed and every night it was still there. :sad2:
