Does anyone know if someone with a G2 can drive in the Sates? :listen: My DD has a G2 and it will be great if she can rotate driving with me down to WDW. :rolleyes1

It seems the limitations placed on a G2 driver are limited to zero blood alcohol and limiting passengers to the working seatbelts in a car -- nothing on the provincial website (that I can see) that limits the roads on which they may drive. In fact, it says they may drive on all Ontario roads anytime.

I would presume this would carry over into the United States. However, you might be best advised to consult with the Ministry of Transportation of Ontario to be certain about this interpretation.

When I lived in Sarnia, and had my G2, I used to drive over the border all the time, and had a lot of friends that did as well. As far as I know it's okay, but like RoyalCanadian said, it may be best to check things out first. CAA maybe able to help along those lines, as they probably have knowledge of driving restrictions in other countries.

A G2 licensed driver can drive anywhere in the USA and Canada providing they abide by the restrictions that are placed on them. No blood alcohol and number of people to working seatbelts. However, there is a new bill coming into law in September that may affect you depending on a government decision. They are restricting G2 licensed drivers(19 and under) for the first 6 months to one passenger under the age of 19(unless accompanied by a G licensed driver) The next 6 months the restriction goes to a limit of 3 passengers 19 and under(this does not include family members, you can have 10 if you have 10 working seatbelts). If you turn 20 in this first year the day you turn 20 these restrictions will not apply. The part that might affect you is they are considering putting on a restriction for driving between the times of 12am-5am with passengers and I am not clear yet as to whether this is with 19 and under or for anyone. This hasn't been decided yet. You will be hearing more from the government as Sept gets closer and they start advertising it to the general public. If you want to look over the new laws goto the Ont goverment website and click on whats new. They are just about to pass bill 169(not about above) which will not only affect my career, but the general driving public as well. Best Wishes and safe driving...........
