The Pin Trader store in Downtown Disney (next to monorail station) has 2 "books" of pins that you can look through and trade (one pin per day, I believe). It has more variety than most of the cast members' lanyards - DS8 found some 2004 Olympic pins that he really liked.

You just go up to the counter (between 1-3pm, I think); wait in line if someone is already looking through the books. :thumbsup2

I think I still have one of those Olympic pins, I can check if your DS might be interested, I'd be willing to pop it in the mail for you. :) fyi, they have those books in DL in FrontierLand and in DCA at PT Flea. We like trading in the books but you really gotta be there super early to get anything "good" from them. We always check them though. :)

Thank you for the offer! :thumbsup2 He did trade for the one with Donald on it, so he's happy.

He is a little shy to go up to CMs to ask to see their lanyards, so the books worked well for him. :goodvibes

i never knew about the books till last time and i just saw the dtd ones as i was passing buy i will have to find out times and stuff id not know they had one in dl and dca

The times rotate, for example, if the one in DL is out from 12-2 then the one at DCA will be out 2-4 and then the one in DTD will be out from 4-6. Those times are not exact of course but you can find them when you visit the parks. :)

Cindy, I will look but I may have traded it. We actually completed the set so it's framed and on our wall at home. :) I'll let you know if I have an extra.

Cindy, this is *inside* the store, right? Not the "shark" type people who set up outside?

CMs have been wearing Olympic pins quite a bit the last few weeks. If you are collecting the set, keep your eyes open for them and you will probably find the ones you are missing. :goodvibes

Actually, the Disney people with the pin trading books will set up outside the respective stores. There's usually 3 or so of them each with a book. In DL, the traders with their personal collections usually set up in a slightly different area (like in Carnation Plaza) because there's no additional seating near the Frontierland area.

Molly, they are not IN the stores, they are outside. And they are not the fanatics there with their own books....altho DBF carries his book around with him....they set up outside the stores with books but you can tell who is who because of the costumes they are wearing. kwim? For instance, in FrontierLand they are wearing the dresses or cowboy outfits, at PT Flea they are wearing the bug costumes. It's very easy to tell who the CM's are and who the "fanatics" are. Altho you should never be afraid to approach anyone who is trading....DBF and I will regularly let the girls go on rides while we sit over by the Trading Post or the Little Green Men store with our pin book and trade...and we LOVE to trade with kids. :)
