FYI! Ticket Price Increase Rumor

I tried to buy APs last night, but got busy.... so missed it.

This morning, couldn't get to AP renewal link thru disney's web page. Only the water tickets were available.

So I bought mapleleaft 10 MYW's w/no expiration date. Old prices is good thru this weekend, and then they are going up too....

Hubby will be mad when he finds out. Told me not to.... we're buying a new house, and money is tight, and he's getting tired of Disney. BUt I did it anyway, I'm sure we'll use these eventually....

So for any other last minute straglers like me. Today's your last chance for the old ticket prices thru the discounters.

Goldi

Well, it's Sunday and I am shocked at how much the prices have gone up. On Thursday I purchased a 10 day non expiring park hopper and the cost was $435.59 (including tax). Today the same ticket is $479.25. An increase of $43.66 or over 10%! There is no longer a pre-purchase discount.

They are destroying the DDP and implementing significant price increases on tickets. 2007 is shaping up to be the summer of DIScontent!

They were thinking they could make money? (At last check that is the goal of the company to make money, not to provide cheap entertainment0

:rotfl2:

Considering how much some other "entertainment" is, I don't think they are that far out of line. Tickets for my college football team avg around $50 and you HAVE to give a SUBSTANTIAL donation if you want season tickets. And food at Neyland Statdium in Knoxville, TN is higher then at Disney (and tastes a LOT WORSE LOL!)

Tickets for concerts here in ATL avg around $80.

Carol thank you - brought the tickets yesterday. Won't have without this post.

I though the change was for next weekend. Disney is getting trickey.

I also appreciate the heads up - bought my DH's DVC-discounted AP on last Friday evening after seeing this thread. Saved about 4% (just under #15).

I have not confirmed but the new 10 day with water parks should include 10 days of water parks instead of 6. That is a $160 value for the 4 extra days.

I believe you are correct if you get the water park option; however, the prices I quoted are for the non-expiring park hopper without the water parks. We frequent WDW during the winter months and most often it is too cold for water parks -- otherwise we'd love to go to the water parks.

You paid too much if you bought those tickets through Disney instead of a ticket broker. Pre-price increase on Friday, I paid $411.95 with tax for a 10 day parkhopper never expire ticket. I don't know what their price will be now after the increase.

Taking away advance purchase...adding more days for water parks does nothing for our travel habits! :confused3 I do not come to Disney in the Summer and I don't plan on starting now! I always buy advance purchase. What Disney Brain figured this one out????:rolleyes1
