FYI those who use AAA TA's

AAA Northway Auto Club has a problem with vacations booked to WDW. It seems folks who booked with the AAA agency have to rebook their trips. AAA's wholesaler, Kingdom Travel, has shut down without delivering any travel tickets or hotel reservations. Folks are being asked to book again and file a claim with Kingdom Travel or their credit card company. Those who paid by check or cash should get their money by the end of August.

The auto club notified customers "they'd have to pay again if they wanted the trip." This info is from the The Daily Gazette newspaper business section.

Yet another reason to book directly.

Wow! Those poor people! Somehow, it doesn't seem right that AAA is in effect, washing their hands of this problem. It it were me, and I wrote a check to AAA (rather than to the wholesaler), I'd be after AAA to either refund my $$ or make it right. When I've gone through a travel agency, I write the check to the agency. Aren't they responsible to me and the wholesaler to them? I am not a lawyer, so this is just my opinion.

I definitely agree about "another reason to book directly".

if a wholesaler or consolidator go belly up its not the blame or fault of the TA but if you used your CC to pay for it (which is why this is the way to go for payment) you can dispute the $4 with your CC company and they will go about getting the money back from the company. it doesn't sound like a good - will gesture from AAA on their part with the way it was worded.
