My kids just started collecting last week, so we're new to pin collecting, but we're on our vacation now and I wanted to mention that the Disney resorts have this package now. With taxes, it comes up to just over $16 for 8 pins and a lanyard. (like $2/pin & lanyard free?) The pins are large and cumbersome and they lose their backs easily, but they're good for trading with the cast members.

The eight pins are 1 mickey, 1 minnie, 1 pluto, 1 goofy, 1 stitch, 1 tinkerbell, 1 donald & 1 daisy.

We picked ours up at Mouse Gear in Epcot and I've seen them a few other places, but not at the pin trader store at DTD

That is a great offer. I wish I knew someone there now. That would be ideal for a trader set.

Was there a minimum purchase? At DLR, you have to purchase $40 worth of merchandise before you can get that deluxe starter set for $16.

No minimum purchase. these sets are all over the parks, just hanging on racks in the stores and kiosks.

I asked my DD to pick them up 2 weeks ago when her school band traveled to Disney. She said she wasn't able to purchase them anywhere at the parks w/o another $40 purchase. We're going in June on a family trip so hopefully we can get them when we go. :thumbsup2

I'm pretty sure you have to make a $40 purchase to get these at the deal price. We also saw tote bags and a blanket being offered. We had friends who bought lanyards and pins, they spent enough that they got the $15 lanyard offer, the pins are cute.

WDW had the $40 minimum purchase too. This condition however, had been removed for Christmas themed blankets to make room for the next themed blanket. Its possible that this is what is happening with the pin and lanyard set.

O/P here. When we were at WDW late Feb to March 7, These were just $15 with no other purchase necessary.

We were there March 25- Apr 3 and you had to have a $40 min purchase to get them and they were only in the parks in the big stores like Mousegear and Main St Emporium. They had different promos in DTD and the hotels. Only saw them the last day we were there.
