FYI -Portofino now has Flat Screen TV's

The Portofino has swapped out all their tv's for the flat screens. The bellhop said they swapped them out about 2 weeks ago.

In the bedroom, they removed the top part of the hutch, so the TV is now sitting out in the open on top of the bottom half.

In the parlor, the hutch is still there and the tv is in the hutch.

Tomorrow there won't be any TV service during the day while they upgrade the system to accomodate the new TV's.

Actually we are in a Portofino Suite this time. I didn't press it as I just made reservations last Sunday. I did ask at check-in, but the guy was new and had no idea of how to even look if a Villa was available. Heck, he had a hard time getting our room keys printed. He typed the names wrong even as I was spelling them as he typed Since this is a short trip of only 5 nights, I wasn't in the mood to press it.

I thought about calling Paul or Juanita this morning (Monday) to see if we could be moved, but we are hardly in the rooms.

I must say though, you really do get spoiled after your last several stays have been in a Villa and now you are in a Portofino. I especially miss the big table as we like to get room service. Just not the same on the coffee table of the Portofino parlor :teeth.

We do have a Villa for March though

Do they actually offer high def on them? Flat screens don't do a whole lot if they just put on the same programming and stretch it (especially if they don't give you a remote that lets you un-stretch it).
