As most of you are aware, Disney's Vero Beach Resort suffered moderate to heavy storm damage as a result of the numerous hurricanes affecting Florida last summer/fall.
Although we are NOT DVC members, we visit this resort every summer (as regular Disney Resort cash-paying guests). Many other DISers frequenting the RESORTS BOARD also do the same. Therefore, I believe this information may prove beneficial to many of you planning to visit this resort during the summer months. We are reserved in a 1BR VILLA for two weeks this summer. Yesterday, I received a letter in the mail from the cast/staff of this resort which reads:
Dear Disney's Vero Beach Resort Guest,
We are PLEASED to have the opportunity to entertain you at Disney's Vero Beach Resort in the coming weeks and wanted to inform you of some "WORK" that will be taking place while you are here.
As part of our ongoing RECOVERY EFFORTS from the storms last fall, we will be conducting continued reconstruction work to the roof of the INN BUILDING during your scheduled vacation. As a result, it is likely you will hear loud noise related to the roof replacement in some of the common areas of the resort. Additionally, you may also see construction vehicles and scaffolding around the Inn Building. We anticipate this work to be completed by late summer, weather permitting.
PLEASE KNOW, we will make every effort to ensure your comfort and enjoyment of our facilities during this difficult time. Should you have any questions, or wish to modify your reservation, please feel free to call the Disney Reservation center @ 1-407-W-DISNEY, or the resort staff directly.

I just wished for everyone possibly planning a trip to DVB resort during their visit to WDW be fully informed of this update. I would consider the INN ROOMS to be the most affected by the reconstruction. Since we are not that close to the INN (the bldg where our Villa is located), I have no plans to change our travel dates.
If anyone has any questions regarding their own reservations to this resort during the summer months, I would suggest calling the resort directly to speak with a staff member. The phone number to the resort is 1-772-234-2000.
