I was told about this perk but not given any other info by my agent. We're leaving for Orlando next Monday and since I don't have my docs yet I called my agent to ask about them and about the storytelling. Here's what I found out:

They ONLY do the storytelling at MK and only on Mon, Wed and Thurs.

They're later afternoon, early evening times. (When many of us with young kids are taking a 'break' at our resort, 4-6pm.)

I had already decided on MK on Tuesday so we won't even be able to take advantage of this perk. Bummer.

Wanted to let you all know so no one else is disappointed!

I didn't use mine 2 weeks ago either, very limited seating and scheduling.

I was curious in what this entailed. I booked through AAA as well but was never told about it. I actually just read about it a few days ago and was trying to look it up.

A mystery character (ours was Aladdin) comes and reads the kiddos a book and then takes pics and does autographs. It was really cute. If you have time to do it, you should try to. DD loved it and it only took 20-25 minutes.

Thank you!! I will definitely have to try and work that in.

I, too, wasn't given much info about this, but did remember to ask the last time I talked to my AAA agent. She didn't give me much detail then either. Unfortunately, if the days remain the same, I won't be able to see it either because we will only be in MK on Saturday and Tuesday. That is a bummer to me, too, because it sounded like a real cute perk. Why in the world don't they give us more info in advance so we can plan around it?! My agent actually told me we had to check the time when we arrive! How would that help after you've already made your ADRs and know which parks you'll be in on which days? Thanks for the heads up, though, now I won't have to be disappointed when I get there, I can stop moping about it well before the trip!

Ours didn't give me any information either. I learned it from the Disboards before we went!!! That was actually the last trip I used a AAA TA. I now just book through CRO. Less hassle and I always get a better deal than the AAA discount.

What is CRO?? Our TA with AAA is not very efficient. I think we will go somewhere else next time.

I'm wondering what CRO is too. AAA was the best deal I found at the time... But I'm always willing to go elsewhere for a better price!

Sorry...CRO is just booking thru Disney themselves. WAAAAY easier and has always ended up cheaper for me (because we travel at a time of year that Disney always offers some kind of deal).

Just a few more details on what I know about AAA Storytime. . .

It is free to anyone who booked a package through AAA. They will give you vouchers when you pick up the rest of your stuff. I believe you can book it 90 days out - phone number is 407-939-7946. It takes about 20 minutes and I was told it usually runs three days a week - Mondays, Wednesdays and Thursdays - and there are usually four times each of those days - 4:30, 5:10 5:50 and 6:30 although I think they do not do the 6:30 time on Wednesdays.

A character comes and reads a story to the kids and then signs autographs, takes pictures, etc. You won't know the character until you arrive but I have read about it being characters like Aladdin, Wendy from Peter Pan, etc. We had the Fairy Godmother. It is nice because it is a break from touring and our dd got to spend some time with FG without being rushed.

Also, I was not thrilled with my first AAA agent. I knew more than she did. However, I like booking through AAA because of the package discounts and perks like the storytelling. I was pm'd the name of a AAA agent who is also a DIS member and I booked through her for our trip next month. She has been great and very knowledgeable. Feel free to PM me if you would like her contact information and I will PM it to you.

I asked my AAA TA about the perk when booking and she gave me the phone number so I could book right away. However, when I got my ticket package, I asked her where the voucher was since the CM said I would need that to get in to the Storytelling. I called the TA and she called me back and said it was available with dining packages only. Anyone else run into this? I already booked, but now don't have the voucher and the TA is less than helpful.

Thanks!

AAA Storytelling is only available when you book a package with dining through AAA (to my knowledge). Yes, you do need the vouchers to get in.

Our documents came in yesterday and I thought I'd let everyone know that is wondering that most of the above info is correct: (Some is slightly different or I've added additional info..)

1. You get this perk if you book thru AAA and get the Dining, Deluxe Dining, Premium, or Platinum packages only.
2. You do need the voucher and valid theme park admission to get in.
3. You must make a reservation for it in advance to attend. The number on the vouchers is (407)939-7946. It says seating is limited. You can make reservations 90 days in advance to at least 24 hours in advance to the date you wish to attend.
4. It is only in MK on Mondays and Thursdays currently. Wednesdays are only available from March thru September! The times on Mondays and Thursdays are: 4:30pm, 5:10pm, 5:50pm, and 6:30pm (Wednesdays times in spring and summer are the same, minus the 6:30 time slot.) It also says there are blockout dates, but doesn't list what they are.
5. It is held in the Expo Hall Theater in Town Square Exposition Hall in MK.

I hope this helps all the others who've booked these packages thru AAA to plan for this perk. I'm quite disappointed because I made all my plans for each park and day weeks ago, along with ADRs, and won't be in MK on a Mon. or Thurs. I don't think it would be worth it at this point to switch things around. So for those of you who haven't gotten that far, work it into your plans, it sounds very nice.

Thank you joyfulscrapper for all this info!!! We go in March so we'll have an extra day to try and fit it in. The times aren't that great (dinner time) but we'll see what we can come up with. Thanks again!!!
