Has anyone done the pony rides? I think DS would absolutely love it, and my stepdad and his kids are HUGE horse fans.

He will be 3. Would he be riding alone? The notation says that 2 and up can ride and they must be under 80lbs and 48 inches to ride with an adult in the lead. Could someone give me some more information?

Could we maybe look into the normal horseback riding as well?

Thanks!

The pony rides are very cute. My son (4) rides every time we visit if they are open. The child must ride alone, I think once my husband led him, but can't remember. The cast members have always been pretty spot on picking up on my sons disposition (can be shy/nervous) and putting him on the right pony.

Just so you know the pony rides are not offered at the Tri-Circle D ranch where the horse trail rides go out from. Tri-Circle D ranch is at the "outpost" to Fort Wilderness. The pony rides are in the "settlement" area of the Fort. You must take a bus from the outpost to the settlement to get to that area. Or is you are coming into FW from a boat from MK or WL you can simply walk to the pony ride area. Its sort of behind Pioneer Hall (where HDDR) is performed.
