FW to WL For 1st Night

I know that I probably should post this on another board but since it has to do with Fort Wilderness you are the ones to ask. We arrive at MCO at 4:30 on a Sunday. I hope that I am giving myself enough time when I figure we are ready to head out to dinner at 7pm. I was thinking of making an ADR for WCC at 8pm. My concern is this: How far is it to WL? How long does it usually take and what is the best way to get there? I was just hoping that this would not be too far out of our way. We are not going to a park on arrival day and we want to turn in early.

More experienced people than I should give you a better answer but I would think that might be rushed if everything does not go according to schedule.

I am a pessimist, late plane, late luggage, delay to FW, long check-in, slow busses to WL.

Advantage to being a pessimist, I am always right or pleasantly surprised.

The easiest way....bus from your cabin loop to the Settlement stop, change to the WL bus at this stop, about 30min to 40 min if you just miss each bus and must wait, in actuality probably 15-20min.

The more scenic route.....bus to Settlement, walk to the marina, catch the boat to WL, you will want the small boat at the right side of the dock, the larger boat on the left will get you there too, but it will go to MK first, you can ride that boat back to FW after your meal. The boat will take a little longer but it is very relaxing and enjoyable.

Thanks for the replies. After talking with my DH I think we will try Trail's End and just explore the campgrounds.
