FW Comfort Stations

I've gone to the bathroom in some pretty lousy places, so I figure anyplace with tile on the floor is pretty luxurious.

Compared to most campgrounds, it is hard to beat the comfort stations at FW. I wouldn't be surprised if they were messed up in the evenings when they are under heavy use and the cleaning staff isn't around. Sometimes I wonder if expectations are a little too high just because it's Disney.

I think it is all relative. Comparing to other campgrounds around the country the Ft. Wilderness comfort stations are top notch. I've been to some state park bath houses that I was afraid to touch the walls, the floor, or anything, no hooks, even if they had benches, blech. Also, a lot of other campgrounds don't cool their bath houses, so you come out of a shower in the summer and can't dry off because of the steam and humidity.

Comparing to a hotel bathroom, where it is cleaned every day and only used by one family, then no there will be a difference.

How many showers are there in each comfort station? We'll be going in a week and a half and I've decided the shower in the RV will probably be dominated by the two 16 yo's and my other daughter, husband and I will be in the comfort stations!

We stayed in the 1600 loop and there were 3 showers in the ladies CS. I'm not sure if their all the same. We never had to wait for a shower.

We each have a mesh backpack from Walmart. I think they were under $4 each. We like them as they dry quickly and hold what we need. Each person has their own with their own toiletries. No need waiting for someone to finish up and pass the shampoo or whatever to the next person.

I love the comfort stations at Fort Wilderness. The tile work is beautiful. I have never seen the bathrooms dirty in all the times we have been there.

I have only ever been in the 2000 loop so I can't tell how it compaired to the others, but it was very clean. This was just in December. DH did not think the men's room was very clean and wouldn't take the boys in there with him. That left me with all 5 to shower and dress in the ladies room. We do use the handicapped stall, if its not being used. Before our trip I purchased a pack of car mats at Wal-mart for the shower floor. All the kids have gen crocks for the showers but I also wanted a place for standing without shoes, but still clean, well our own dirt and germs. I saved one of the 4 mats for dry and laid the other 3 in the shower area. Worked great actually got a second set for the tents. There are light weight and I rolled them in a waffle bag to and from the site and they were dry in no time.:laundy:

Carried everything in large beach bag to and fro. Almost always have the stroller with me to lug everything. I would call DH from the CS as I was finishing the last one :scared: and he would come and get them and I would then shower. He would have their breakfast ready and they would be all packed and ready for the parks by the time I got back, coffee in hand and off we went.
