. Also keep in mind the last time I stayed at the fort was 1996 so things might have changed but I doubt it.
In the last five years or so, the Comfort Stations have been re-finished with new flagstone floors and tile work. They are actually much nicer than they were at the time of your visit. The most recent renovation was on the CS between the 1500 and 1600 loops. I think that almost all of them have now been re-done, except for those on the 2000 loop.
As for toting you items, I am the man, so I just have a shaving kit that holds everything I need.
My DW and DD's each have their own little carrier that we bought at
Bath and Body Works. It is like a nylon bucket, with a metal handle and a mesh bottom. They each have their own shampoo, conditioner, soap, etc. That way, they can go to the showers at the same time, and not have to try to share the products, or wait until one person is done to go to the shower. This saves a lot of time! (and arguments). The nylon carriers are great, because everything they need goes right in there, and we just store them under the camper so they are handy.
I will also share a tip for you about something that we do when the DW is not with us. It never fails that one of the kids will drop her new, clean, dry clothes on the floor in the shower stall when trying to get dressed, or leave something some item of her dirty clothes at the comfort station when returning (and usually not remember until we are back home, if ever). So, when they camp with me, I send the DD's to the showers without their clean clothes. We leave those in the camper. After they shower, they put on the clothes they wore there, and then come back to the camper and change. It works a lot better. DW does not approve, but it hasn't killed the kids yet to put on their dirty clothes to walk back to the campsite, and we never have to worry about the new clothes falling in the water, or them forgetting to bring back the clothes that they wore there. And, we are camping, after all-a little dirt and germs are to be expected.
