In February I was planning on staying in a tent at FW with a friend of mine from Maryland. (She will be flying down to Orlando to meet me. I will be driving to Orlando.) Now my DM is thinking of buying my Uncle's old moterhome. (We have used it, and it is sufficient.) Now I think she needs to come along with the moterhome and bring my daughter along so we can go to the priate and princess party. My question: Will a 30' moterhome fit on a site with a 13'x10' tent. Will Disney allow us to do that, and will it cost us extra for the addition of the tent, or just per person? The other item that we would have on site would be an easy up canopy because the awning is broken on the moterhome. What do y'all think?

We often share our site with friends who have a tent a liitle smaller than yours. We have a 33' trailer, and they fit behind the trailer with no room to spare. You can tell them when you check in that you need room for a tent too. There is no extra charge for a tent, just for the individuals. The canopy might be tough to squeeze in. Our awning often stretches out off of the site, but then we also have a slide out to accomodate.

If you already have your ressies I'd call back to CRO and tell them to add a tent to the site. That way they can plan to have a large enough site reserved for you.

I haven't made reservations yet but am getting an idea of what I need to look for. I am hoping in October that they will have some deals open for those dates. Do you think there will be enough preferred sites that size open still?

If you are looking for this October you may be hard pressed finding a prefered site next October may be easier. We called for a prefered for Dec 07 and they were all booked so we are stuck with a partial and I call every day to see about changing to prefered.

I think that the OP is hoping to book in October for a trip in February.

OP - Just and FYI, but you can book your site at regular rate now and then call back later to see if any discounts have become available. I think that February might be "iffy", depending on when you plan to be there. Many northern schools have vacations that week plus FW gets a lot of "snowbirds" that stay for several months in the winter. There may be several days in Feb. that FW is completely booked. My advice would be to book now and then try to apply the discount later. If you have AAA you might be able to get a discount now.

We're tent camping in February. Do you have any calendar dates in mind yet? Looking to try and get a meet together for February and I'm looking for potential meeties (is that right? ).

Goin Feb. 1st through Feb. 4th. Short and sweet.

Thanks all. I am planning on being there that same weekend! :cool1: I am thinking of being there either Feb 1 - 4 or Feb. 2 - 6. It will all depend on when the Pirate and Princess party runs (daytime or evening time). If it is the evening, we will go Feb 1 - 4, but if it is during the day we will go Feb 2 - 6. I have to allow travel time. (approx. 6 hours?)

you can have up to ten people on one site, you'll need to pay for extra adults.
you can have on rv and as many tents as long as they fit on your site.

They are very strict about "on your site". You can only use the driveway and the sand pad. There may be some area around your site that is unuseable to anything but trees, shrubs and wildlife, but you cannot spread out to those areas.

(We had a utility trailer pushed off to the side of our driveway. We had to either get it back on the driveway or pad, or move it out to the front parking area.)

Thanks for the warning! :thumbsup2 I will remember that. I don't think it will be a problem. I will let them know what we will be setting up when we call. That way, maybe they will reserve a bigger site.
