:wizard: Hi Guys,

We have been to WDW three years in a row and have stayed at the Polynesian. This year the family has convinced me to take the Motor Home and camp. From what I understand FW is great, except for traveling anywhere but the Magic Kingdown. Everything I read says to take the internal bus system to the external. Would it not be easier to take the boat to the Magic Kindom and use their bus system? Also any other tips while we stay there would be greatly appreciated.

It's very simple to just take the boat straight to MK or to Contemporary. We also take the boats over to MK to hop on monorail to Epcot. Much faster and easier transport than the buses.

Glad to hear it. Pretty nervous about it. We have had such amazing experiences at the Polynesian that I am very hesitant about it, but the family outvoted me!

Our family has been traveling to Disney since it opened. We have stayed at the Poly, Contemporary Tower and Garden Wing, WL, POFQ, CBR, All Star Resorts and Ft. Wilderness Campground. The campground holds a special place in my heart because I truly basically grew up camping there...tents as well as the motorhome. My fondest memories are of the campground. One thing that I wish Disney would do is either bring back River Country or to update the pools at the campground. The pool situation is the only draw back. I absolutely love hearing the boat horns, sitting on the beach watching Wishes over MK and watching the Electric Water Parade, shoping at the trading posts and eating the best breakfast around at Trail's End Buffet. The comfort stations are extremely clean and everyone at the campground is like one big happy family ready to help one another out. There were many times when other campers invited us to eat with them at their site or asked if we needed any help in setting up camp. If you're further out than Loop 800 you may want to rent a golf cart. Loop 800 is a very easy walk to Pioneer Hall, Trading Post, Marina...even carrying sleeping children. I was a single mother with 3 children and camped all the time alone with them and always felt safe and secure there.

What is wrong with the pools? We always plan at least one day to lay by the pool.

Now that's what I call doing extremes!! And even though I'm not a camper, if my whole family wanted to do it, I think I would just treat it like an adventure and dig right in.

Have fun with your planning and hope you and your family have an awesome trip! :wizard:

They're just basic pools...no thrills or frills...no hot tubs either. At least from the last time we camped. I know at one time they were considering allowing those staying at the Campground to use the pool at Wilderness Lodge, but don't know if they allow it or not now. The last time we camped at Ft. Wilderness was in 2002.

Sorry - I posted on the wrong thread!
