**I posted this in the resort section, but am posting here too so hopefully I can get some additional info. Thanks!**

I have a few questions about these resorts that I am hoping will help me make up my mind.

My sister and I are taking trip next month. She was going to stay shorter and I was going to have some solo time to myself. This changed so now we are staying together. I called last week and combined our ressies to a week at FW Cabins. There will be 5 of us. My sister and I and three kids (12, 7 and 5). I really like the seclusion and the layout. It will feel more like home to the kids and they can get away from each other or go outside if needed. We're driving so we could park right outside.

However, we are on the deluxe dining plan so we won't use the kitchen much at all except for maybe snacks. We will be spending much of our time and eating meals in the parks. For this reason, I am leaning more towards a suite at ASMu now. My nephew and I love going to pool. I like walking down around midnight for a late night swim if needed. I find it really helps the aching feet.

The square footage of both seem comparable. I found ASMu to be 520 and the cabins to be 500.

So after all that, on to my questions.

Are the pullout beds at ASMu comfortable?

How far is it to walk from the cabins at FW to the main pool? I can't find the answer to this on the threads anywhere. Anytime anyone asks about walking they are told to take the bus or rent a golf cart. Renting a golf cart isn't in the budget and if we don't want to wait for a bus, I was wondering how long/far the walk is.

Also, how long of a walk to fill our refillable mugs at FW Cabins? Can you park at any of the places that refill them? It seems like our free mugs may just get wasted here, but are a nice souvenir nonetheless.

Anyone have a pic or link to a pic for the pool that is in the cabin loop? I can't find a pic of this one, just the main pool.

Also, my sister is a smoker and her children under any circumstances do not see her smoke. I don't even think they know she smokes. For the cabins, she could walk out on the porch. At ASMu does anyone know where the designated smoking areas are?

Sorry for the long post! I appreciate any help I can get with these, it will help me make my decision. Thanks in advance! :)

The walk to the main pool is around 1/2 mile and that is about the some to the Meadows Trading post for your refil mugs. You can drive to the Meadow Trading post and there is parking,But it only for 10 mins

The bad thing it the cabin pool now closes at 10pm the main pool is open 24hr

+++ASMu Suite has 2 bathrooms, a big plus for me :goodvibes

Pool closes at at but if your quiet no one will kick you out

Cabins are up where the action is. Across from the MK. ASM is so far away. OK if you have a car. DD stayed there once and hated the comute. Only one bathroom in the cabin but you can send the kids to the camper showers so it's like having several. Great for the smoker. She can just go for a walk around the loop. Walk to the pool could be a hike at the cabin. Not sure about ASM.

Old thread I started, but still valid. We like both, they have pros and cons. http://www.www.disboards.com/showthread.php?t=2272883

We just stayed at a Family Suite in January 12 again. Pullouts were not as comfortable as they were in January 09. Heading back to cabins in August and looking forward to it. This time we'll have a golf cart.

There is also the option of the new AoA. I have a family suite booked for our youngest daughter right now for August.

I agree that this might be the perfect resort for your situation.

The rooms look bigger and more comfortable. ASM rooms were two rooms that they opened up. Not sure why they took out the other two beds and put in the fold outs. Beds would be more comfy.

But I am a FW / WL fan and will still vote for the cabins.

Thanks for the comments! I appreciate them.

I went with ASMu today for the two bathrooms and close proximity to the pool. AOA is just out of my budget (pricey for pretty much the same amenities at ASMu) and actually only has three beds so we'd all have to double up except for one of us. ASMu has 4 beds so the two youngest can double up and the rest of us can have our own. AOA probably has a better theme and of course is new, but we won't be in the room much anyway, except to sleep, read or nap. I like to swim each night even if its for 10 mins so the closer pool will be better than the cabins and so will the two bathrooms.

I have the FW Cabins on my short list now. I will definitely have to try it on a future trip and maybe on a trip that isn't so park heavy so we could actually enjoy it. We will be visiting for Hoop de Doo and the campfire so I can check out the grounds at least.

Again thanks, I appreciate it.

The quiet pool at ASMu is near the Jazz buildings. If you want to do a late night swim, it might be a little cozier than the Calypso pool. But both are great. Have a great time!
