Future ride closures

Where do you find the list of future ride closures? We are going in November and I want to know what will be shut down that week.

This is one spot to check for a list of closures.

On the Disney website maps, you can click on the attraction for specific info regarding the ride, if it's slated for refurbishment the dates are there.

It's worth noting that DLR doesn't always announce refurbs that far in advance. When I last called the refurb hotline (714-781-4636), they were only listing rides that were slated to close before 9/16/14 (or something like that). So, there may be more closures coming that they have not yet announced.

Doesn't look like it's completely accurate though. They've been missing matterhorn bobsleds which is down till November for about a week now. I would just call the line every day.

mouseplanet.com is always good for updates on closures. They have a disneyland update every monday. Go to the bottom of the page of that update and they will list out as far as they have word on.

We are going in November as well and I'm worried with the 60th anniversary next year that they will start closing dark rides in fanstasyland. There are rumors out there that they will update all the fantasyland dark rides with special effects and other things for the next big anniversary.

I had Matterhorn Bobsleds on our list here at The DIS, but it's been missing from the official lists the last couple of times I checked, so I took it off. I'll keep an eye out for it.

I do think it's also worth keeping in mind that this year has been pretty wonky in terms of refurbs. Things are added to the refurb list, then removed or have the dates changed. The list here, the one on MousePlanet, and even the Disneyland hotline give you the best information available, but it's subject to change with no notice (which it has been doing this year). In other words, until the ride actually shuts down, it's hard to say for sure that the refurb will happen as posted.

You are not going to have a year of refurbs; half a year at most and even then it's not going to be all of the rides at once. It's likely that the more voluminous refurbs schedule will continue until the start of the 60th Anniversary celebration sometime next year (2015), but that should start sometime in late spring/early summer (depending on whether they kick off the summer season with the 60th anniversary celebration or not). Still, I would guess that by summer of next year, there will be fewer refurbs and the 60th anniversary celebration should be in full swing.

Yes! It's annoying me that Matterhorn is listed on the automated line TWICE. How are they going to close it if it's already closed, lol
