Future Disney College Program?! :D

Hello everyone! My name is Brooke and I'm super new to these forums, but PUMPED to be here! I've recently been obsessed with reading blogs/watching vlogs about the Disney College Program and it seems AMAZING!!! ♥ I'm totes planning on participating when I'm in college. So I was just wondering... are there any of you fellow teens out there in high school that want to do the college program too?!

Well its funny you should mention it because I was researching that I do love Disneyworlds rides and hope to be like a ride operater if i get into the program but ya it seems really fun. =} and If you need any help gettin around these boards you can just ask me I started yesterday but its fairly easy

Hey there and welcome to both of you! I totally want to do the college program when I get to that point in my life. Working at WDW would be a complete dream come true and I would want to do anything in the parks: character, walking w/ characters, working a shop or ride, or anything like that.

I'm planning on applying for the program once I graduate (I'll apply the semester that I graduate, that way once I'm doing the program I'll be graduated). I'm in college now, but there's no way I can take a semester off to do the CP. I wish I could take a semseter off though, because I'm dying to do the CP!

I'm hopefully doing it too but coz I live in England will be doing the International College Program instead which is a little different I'm planning on doing it when I'm about 20/21 so only 2/3 more years to go
I've spoken to lots of the college program CMs when I'm over there and they always say how its so amazing and the best experience they have ever had... it would be so cool to meet lots of new people and for me to live and work in another country .. can't wait

Disney has always been my dream job, and when found out about the college program, I decided that I have to do it. I really want to work in entertainment as a character, even though I know it's hard to get into. Have to wait three year though first!! Oh well. Can't wait til I graduate!!

I want to audition for an entertainment role for the WDWCP. It is extremely hard to go from CP to FT especially in entertainment because they are not really looking to hire FT at the moment.
I know people in Attractions, Merchandise, Entertainment, and costuming who were CP and ended up getting a FT position. There are so many possibilities with Disney and it is always growing.

Welcome to the boards!

If you want to do the CP, you should look for schools that will offer you credits for the semester you do the CP - because it requires you to take time off of school to go and some schools (like mine) do not honor the program. This also depends on your major and what you do at Disney.

But if you really want it to happen, it will!

Same thing happened to me.
I asked my advisor about it because I really wanted to do it as well. But my advisor said that it wouldn't do anything for my credits, so if I did go through with it, I would be a semester behind. I was pretty bummed out. But I plan on moving to Florida anyway, so I'll work down there in the summers when I'm not teaching.

I plan on going to college at UCF for the hospitality program at the Rosen Campus for Hospitality Management.
I want to do the Spring 2012 as I start my first semester Fall 2011. I may do Fall 2012 .. I am not sure yet. I am slightly ahead in credits thanks to dual enrollment!

At least you plan to live there someday, so you can make some magic even without the CP.
