I was talking to my ds's friends mom this morning. Turns out he threw up this morning and is not at school today. She told me he had Diarhea yeasterday. I said "When?" - "Oh all day. I guess I shouldn't have let him come over and play." I couldn't beleive it! She sent her kid over to my house with Diarhea and didn't even tell me that he might have something. She knows we are leaving Saturday for Disney World.:headache: I am just appalled. I would never send my kids to someone's house if he had Diarhea. Now I am just praying that we don't all get it and pass it around. So send some Pixie Dust my way b/c I am so upset right now.

:tinker: pixiedust:

Sending you pixiedust!!!

I have had that done to me too. A friend of my daughter's came over to play and had started with a really bad virus the day before. (I found out later...after the kid had spent the better part of an hour in the bathroom and I had to call the mother.) I wasn't going to WDW, but I did have a baby at the time who was only about 3 or 4 months old. I don't get it.

Hope you have a wonderful time! I am jealous!!!!!!;)

Some people are just so inconsiderate. I think it is so rude to show up at someone's house when you are sick unless you clear it with them. It is even worse to drop your sick kid off with someone! We certainly go to my in-laws when we are sick because we know they won't care, but we always check first just to be sure. That is because they have a habit of lying to us when dd was an infant and visiting when they are sick. We are trying to teach them some consideration. Some people just don't get it. :confused3

Thanks for the pixie dust and sympathy. I guess some people just need to take Pooh's advice and "Think, Think, Think" !

I am so sorry! I just don't get people! I hope you are able to have a healthy, FUN trip to Disney later this week!

Pixie Dust!!!!!!:wizard:

I know how you feel. I watch a little girl and in Feb the parents brought her over w/the stomach fly 4 days before WDW! The mom said since she stopped vomitting in the middle of the night she thought she was no longer contagious. :scared1: Of course we got sick right before the trip.

2 weeks ago they brought over and thought she had the chicken pox! I'm pregnant and didn't even know if DH had them before:headache:

So, I know exactly how you feel! Make you wonder about people huh? We'll think good thoughts for you and take exta vit C and lots of fluids.

Wow, that is so bad!

I will be sending you some pixie dust right now! I can only imagine how upset you are. We had a new baby (she had been born w/a heart dysrhythymia/resolved and is a healthy 5 yr old) but Doc told us we HAD to keep her away from sickness in as much as we could.... of course my sister shows up to Thanksgiving dinner and her son (we did not know) had diarrrhea... the next day people started coming down sick, my poor dad felt awful, threw all the food away thinking maybe it was that... my sis finally fessed up... out of 21 people 19 got sick... here I was with a brand new baby... (surgery, newborn, tired,,, need I go on) I am a pretty easy going person but I was cursing my sis the whole time I was croutched over the toilet.

Some people just don't get it! I am a nurse and You would be surprised at how inconsiderate some people are!

I wish you the very best for your trip.... please go to your physician right away if you do get sick,,, probably viral and will not need antibiotics but he/she can offer you many alternatives that may help you to get better faster.

Lots of Luck to you! Make sure you take your vitamins, stay hydrated, and get plenty of sleep! Good luck! And have a magical vacation

P.S. I would NEVER let me child go to some one else's house having any of that, especailly knowing that they were heading to WDW in a week, that is so unbelievable!

That stinks! Hope your family stays healthy! Enjoy your trip!

Possibly in more ways than one! ;) Sorry couldn't resist!

OP I would be quite ticked. Heck, I get mad if people do that when I don't have a trip planned. How rude and self centered of them!

Sorry about your sis! I can't believe she would expose a newborn with health problems to diarhea!:scared1: And elderly people too!

I didn't know there was anything but immodium or pepto for the stomach virus. So thanks!:flower3: I'll call my DR. immediately if one of us gets it.

I think that that is the most inconsiderate thing anyone can EVER do. What if your kid had health problems? What are parents like this thinking?

Regardless of your upcoming trip, it is downright rude to drop off your sick child at someone elses home!

I've had that happen with my son's friends many times. I don't know what is wrong with parents.

One time one of my son's friends came over and had the whooping cough. His mother didn't tell me that when she dropped him off. Right after he left he started coughing like mad. I enede up getting it from the boy and I was sick for 2 months. :sad2:

I just can't believe how many people have had this problem too! I think it's just wrong to willfully expose other people to illness. Hopefully she'll never do this again b/c my neighborhood is like a small town and everyone is in everyone else's business. If she starts sending her kid sick to people's houses, he won't be invited over. :sad2: She said she thought it was just upset stomach from eating junk. I'm mad, but I'm not going to tell any of the neighbors in the hopes this was a one time mistake. Thank you for being my safe outlet! I don't want to contribute to my gossipy neighborhood!

i remember dropping my ds off at pre-k, and hearing another mom tell the teacher "he threw up this morning, but then seemed fine" and the teacher let her drop him off. I was SOOOO mad. The policy in school is 24 hours after throwing up. I think the teacher just didn't have the guts to send the mom to the office. It was flu season too. And it's pre-k, not daycare (she was a working mom, so while i felt bad like she would have had to take the day off, you still shouldn't expose the whole class and teachers to something like that).

hope your trip turns out fine!

I would be VERY upset. We are big belivers in air-born. our Dr. also pushes the stuff. It can boost the immune system. We up the does when exposed to someone ill. Pixie dust and prayers for your trip!!

I am sending some pixie dust your way! We'll be checking in at the Poly on Saturday also. Maybe we'll see each other and hopefully everyone is healthy!

When I taught, I once had a sick and miserable little boy come into the class. When the mom picked him up, she said she was just hoping he would make it through the day because she had so many meetings!!
