funny video: kids not excited about trip to Disney World

They do love Disney. They have been 4 times and we are going again next year for Christmas. They were just looking foward to going with me and going somplace else with their mother.

That absolutely makes sense. I had a feeling the explanation was something like that.

Sayhello

If its better than Disney then I want to go to Dicks house.

I love the reaction from the older (hoodie) boy

I completely get this. First of all, when kids are tired, we often don't get the reaction out of them that we want. As an adult, I don't always get the reaction out of me that I want when I'm tired. I wonder why this video got picked up anyway. If my kids reacted that way, and I reacted the way the mother did I wouldn't want to share it with everyone.

These are actually my kids. This was a couplke months after my ex-wife ( the Disney Baby voice) and her sister (the I told you so voice) had told my kids they were going to a friend of ours house in the white mountains. They were aware at the time that I had booked a trip for me and the kids to go 2 months from when this was shot. They reaction was a mix of over tired and that they were looking forward to going to the cabin as they knew they would be in Disney in a couple weeks with me. Everyone wants to say they are spoiled brats but when you know the back story you can see they are really the exact opposite. They did have a great time during this trip and again with me 2 months later when they returned.

See to me that makes perfect sense. They already knew they were going to do the Disney thing with you, then they had no reason to get excited about a surprise trip when they believed they were going to do something different.

It's like someone saying to me for ages that we were going to Grandma's today, and to the theatre in a week or so. Then being told we are going to go to the same theatre show twice, whilst I was in a bad mood! However much i may enjoy the show, it is hard to get up that enthusiasm.

There is always more of a story behind every one of these snippets of information!

So true!

I don't have kids (yet), however, I can totally understand how they would act that way even without hearing the whole story. But I also totally agree that for me it's hard to relate to people who don't "get" Disney. From the age of 8 when I started reading the UG, I spent lots of time begging my parents to take me back to Disney! I would have been thrilled to be taken on a surprise Disney trip! But that's just the Disney nut in me. Have to remind myself sometimes that not everyone shares this passion!
