funny stuff going on at a neighborhood graduation party tonight

A neighbor is having his H.S. graduation party. I bet he will never forget it.

He has had this really ugly skateboard ramp in his yard, and they torched it tonight. The fire department was called and had to put it out. Flames were estimated to be about 20 feet high.

While many of the guests were fellow high-school students, there were several people there with little boys. So, there were several dads who brought eir boys out to see the trucks. We live across the street from this house, se we were outside watching this for about 20 minutes. At the end, when the firemen where rolling up the hoses, it was very obvious that one of the boys was chatting with one of the firemen. At the end of their conversation, the little guy shook the hand of the fireman. I'm sure that fireman "made" that little guy's night!

I wonder--what kind of ramps were these?

A few of the boys in our neighborhood have "ramps" and they set them up in a way where you'd think you were doing an Evil Knievel show or a circus or something once they get rolling (literally).

They put them on both sides of my street, and any boy on wheels can use them. I've seen kids on bikes, skates, skateboards, scooters, Heelies--you name it--flying around between them.

My 9 year-old constantly has scraped elbows and knees, but we haven't been to the ER with him in almost two years, and that's a good thing! These ramp things are frightening.
