Last year my husband, a friend, and I were riding through the Safari in the Animal Kingdom. We got to a certain spot where there were giraffes. We slowed to look at them and one started walked towards us. Our driver stopped so everyone could see and take pictures. Everyone thought it was wonderful because he got so close to the car. Out of nowhere the giraffe swooped his head down and bit at the car. It was alarming at first but one of my favorite experiences on the safari. I have some pictures if I can ever figure out how to upload/download them. We still talk and laugh about it! We have a strange sense of humor!

Fortunately the giraffe didn't like the taste of the car!

You would think that by now the animals would be used to the cars, and no longer feel threatened by it.

A couple of years ago DH and I were on KS. 3 rhinos decided they wanted to "Lead" us, so they did. All three of them ran in front of our jeep, stopped and looked at us (needless to say our driver stopped our jeep), then turned around and started trotting down our road. We drove slowly behind them. Every 15 to 20 seconds at least one would stop and turn around and look at us, which in turn made us stop. This lasted for quite a while.

I have some great video of the back side of these 3 rhinos. I have to admit, it was a little scary because sometimes when they looked at the jeep you weren't sure if they were thinking of charging us! Every time I ride KS I think about those rhinos. They made this ride a very memorable one!

Well, on that same trip there were some rhinos that walked in front of the Tram and kind of just stood there for a while and we had to wait. It wasn't the same ride as the girraffes but it was the same trip!

We're going down in a few weeks and we booked the Safari Behind the scenes tour. We're huge animal lovers so we can't wait to see other things like feedings and stuff. We're really excited!
