I will be hosting an after game social/party on 4/1 (aka April Fools Day). So I am putting a special music playlist together for the day. Looking on line the recommendations are all songs for Aprils Fools Day have "fool" in the title (too literal in my opinion and not quite the theme I am going for). I have, in addition to Weird Al (of course), songs like Red Solo Cup, What the Fox says, Gangnam Style. What other songs fit this theme? Looking for funny, parody, silly, goofy, comedy, novelty, type songs from the 80's - today.

These are some of the songs on my April Fool's Day list. I realize that you were looking for songs that weren't so blatantly obvious, but Taken In was the only one I had that didn't have Fool in the title.

Chain of Fools (either The Commitments or Aretha Franklin)
Dancin'Fool (The Guess Who)
Everybody Plays the Fool (Aaron Neville)
Fool in the Rain (Led Zepplin)
Fooled Around and Fell in Love (Elvin Bishop)
Foolin' (Def Leppard)
Foolish Heart (Steve Perry)
Foolish Games (Jewel)
Foolish Pride (Daryl Hall)
Fortunate Fool (Jack Johnson)
I'm No Fool (from the Mickey Mouse Club)
Kissing a Fool (George Michael)
Nobody's Fool (Kenny Loggins...theme from Caddyshack II)
Ship of Fools (Robert Plant)
Taken In (Mike + The Mechanics..."someone saw me coming; a fool without a friend")
The Fool on the Hill (The Beatles)
What a Fool Believes (The Doobie Brothers)
What Kind of Fool Am I? (Rick Springfield)
Why Do Fools Fall In Love? (Frankie Lymon and The Teenagers)
Won't Get Fooled Again (The Who)

Other party songs (some, like The Big Fish Little Fish song have actions):

Bust a Move (Young MC)
Can't Hold Us (Ryan Lewis & Macklemore)
Cotton-Eye Joe (Rednex)
Footloose (Kenny Loggins)
Hey Ya! (Outkast)
Let's Get It Started (Black-Eyed Peas)
Macarena (Bay Side Boys Remix) (Los Del Rio)
Tequila (Champs)
The Big Fish Little Fish Song (Rik & Nik and the Party Kick...look up the actions online)
Tubthumping (Chumbawamba)
Walk Like an Egyptian (The Bangles)
Y.M.C.A. (The Village People)
Pump Up the Jam (Technotronic)
Cupid Shuffle
Who Let the Dogs Out (Baha Men also redone as "Who Woke Snow White Up")
Pac-Man Fever (definitely a novelty song from the 80's)
Star Wars Theme/Cantina Band (Meco...this is NOT the song from the movie soundtrack)
Kung Fu Fighting (Carl Douglas...it is from 1974, but has come back via the Kung Fu Panda movies)

I hope these help somewhat. I love making and organizing playlists.

These all fit the theme. Thanks! And I actually have Who Woke Snow White Up too ;)

I thought of a few others:

Crazy Frog (Axel F)
Hampsterdance Song
Mambo No. 5 (Or the alternative Disney's Mambo No. 5..."A little bit of Mickey in my life, a little bit of Minnie by my side..."
I'm a Gummy Bear (Gummibar)
The Duck Song (also The Duck Song 2 and The Duck Song 3 by Bryan Oden)

A few more that I have come across...pick and choose as you see fit. There is sometimes a fine line between novelty song, over-played, annoyingly catchy song, and one-hit wonder, so they may not all work for what you are looking for. (Honestly, if annoying after hours of play were a criteria, you could add "Let It Go" as well.) :duck:

Rappin' Rodney by Rodney Dangerfield
Peanut Butter Jelly Time by Buckwheat Boyz
Coconut Song by Harry Nilsson (put the lime in the coconut...)
Barbie Girl by Aqua
Blue (Da Ba Dee) by Eiffel 65
Friday by Rebecca Black (Too bad April Fool's Day falls on a Saturday this year and not a Friday)
I'm Too Sexy by Right Said Fred
Tarzan Boy by Baltimora
Do the Bartman by The Simpsons
I Wanna Be a Cowboy by Boys Don't Cry
Take Off! by Bob and Doug McKenzie (Classic Canadiana!)
Numa Numa Song (Dragostea din tei) by O-Zone
Whip It by Devo
Mickey by Toni Basil
Fancy by Iggy Azalea
We Like to Party by Vengaboys
Mahna Mahna by The Muppets

You are awesome. Thank you.

I did put Let it Go on my movie music playlist (it's the only Disney Song on there) because you know everyone needs to "Let go" every now and then ;)

I purposely AVOIDED suggesting that song (and other Disney songs) for your movie playlist...too funny!

It's a slippery slope, you know? You say it is just ONE Disney song, but before you know it, "Be Our Guest" will be included and then "Can You Feel the Love Tonight" will slip in there. At that point, you are just one Zip-a-Dee-Doo-Dah away from having the entire Disney music library downloaded with just a smattering of "other" songs mixed in. Don't say I didn't warn you. :P

Julie Brown: I'm Trapped In The Body Of A White Girl
And:Everybody Run, The Homecoming Queen Has Gotta Gun

They are on a longer playlist but for this purpose I did remove them. They are after all academy nominated/winners.
