I'm 13 days from my first trip to WDW and I have to say, in sifting through and reading these forums over the last few months (especially in the Disney Tips Forum), I've come to one conclusion.

I read a lot of, 'get there for park opening', 'priority seating...3, 6, 9 or even 12 months in advance', 'moleskin', 'get a stroller', take breaks throughout the day', avoid dehydration', 'pack this, that and everything else at home', 'moleskin', 'get to the back of MK as fast as you can and hit the rides early, then make your way towards the front...', 'moleskin', 'get to...by <time> and don't miss <event, restaurant, parade, backstage tour>', 'separate baggies containing <anything>' and did I mention, 'moleskin!!'.

I KNOW I'm going to have a good time but 6 months ago I was preparing for a nice family getaway to have fun with the kids. Now, six months later, I think it's rather fitting that my trip will encompass superbowl weekend because now I feel like I'm preparing for battle.

I can't wait!!!!!!

You're just on Disney Tip overload! :rotfl: Take all in stride and have a good time!

:rotfl: Take a deep breath and have a great time. Oh yeah, and don't forget the moleskin :rotfl2:

:woohoo: No...No...No...I really am excited. I'm not being sarcastic. My thinking is...if all of these people go through these lengths to visit this place, it must be incredible!! :woohoo:

On paper (or on screen) it does seem pretty compulsive, but all these things are good to keep in the back of your mind, because using strategy tends to greatly reduce your "stand around and wait while we figure out X" time; which is time where people tend to get grumpy.

I find that strategy is most important when travelling with wee ones, who do great when they are moving and having fun, but not so great when waiting for grown-ups to make decisions. Even if your decision is that "today we are going to hang out at the resort and do nothing in particular" it helps to have decided that before you went to bed the night before, or, at least it does in our case.

When I first started doing this for our trips, DH thought I was nuts, but after the first time he told me that I was right to do it, because WDW is so large that totally going with the flow tends to lead to repeatedly flowing around in frustrating circles, and in waiting twice as long for all the things you want to do.

It's very incredible; therefore I am always prepared. I just don't do moleskins though. :lmao: :rotfl:

I foresee the Disney Vacation Club in your future. :woohoo:

You better believe it.
Had a friend tell me that her family "winged it" on their first trip (and admittedly missed more than half the attractions/magic.) Can you even imagine? :faint: :scared:
(To me, the planning is **almost** as much fun as the doing.) :bounce:
