I remember one, winter storm that was SO bad, the major radio station changed things around when it came to announcing school closures. The number of schools that were closed was HUGE. It took over half an hour to get through reading the list. The radio station then decided that they would read the names of schools and organizations that were OPEN. So, if a school or organization was open, they were supposed to call in. Otherwise, assume your school was closed for the day.

The updated list took about 5 minutes to read.
