Sigh, these are red dye (sometimes other color) flavored frosting on top of baked paste that trick you into thinking they might be cookies, what they are is disappointment.

They are very "cakey" cookies. They're not necessarily terrible, but aren't the best example of what a "cookie" is. Honestly, the inexplicably popular Crumbl cookies remind me of these.

For some reason my kids loved those soft, iced cookies. Actually I shouldn’t use “loved” as they still do!

I also like them, and my kids are really adults now too, by at least ten years. The cookies were a common purchase for many family occasions and holidays.
