Funny ebay auction: Guy sold ex-wife's beanie babies

Wow! The final bid was considerably higher than the $10 he started with. He must've been shocked. He'll be able to buy a lot of tools for that amount!

I recently sold a bunch of my beanies and about fell off my chair when one lot went for over $200 for just 6 of them. I realized that my "peking" beanie was worth more than just the regular ones. I had received him in a huge lot and never gave it much thought. I had numerous people write and ask me about whether he was a fake or not. Honestly I did not know how to tell. I just sent him along with the others and the buyer was happy.

:rotfl:

Okay, that's great!! Though I can't believe how much they went for!! Hmm... maybe I'll have to look into selling ours, though I doubt we have any of any real value...

Thanks for the link to that auction, TownCrier!! I heard Neal Boortz read this on his program the other day and LOLed!

I think I need to clean out my spare bedroom and sell the space taking up things I moved down to ohio with. i got a bunch of beanies and it's more money for disney:)

I think that I am going to post mine on ebay now. They are just sitting in a closet in a bin. I have no need! Maybe make a few bucks. I didn't buy a single one - all were gifts.

I am glad he made so much $$$ - serves his ex right!!! Happy tool shopping and beer drinking!!

What a hoot! :p I can't believe the one woman took it so seriously as to EMail him about "counterfeits"!! And people think I need a life!
I have two little boxes of these in the kids closets, maybe I should EBay them--but like this guy, I don't give a rip about their background!

LOL...that had to be the funniest thing I have seen in a while....

I hated those stpid beanies and my hubby predicted that they wouldn't last...they didnt....::yes::

Gotta give the man credit for being honest..lol..

I was LOL at his response to her. I mean, if he were trying to scam people, I doubt he would start the bidding at $10 and say that he knows nothing about Beanies. If he were a true scam artist he would be going out of his way to pass the commons/counterfeits off as rare/original. Unless.....maybe he's a very clever con artist :scratchin

Well, at least he has found a way to vent his frustratations.

I never understood the attraction of those beanie babies.

LOL!! This is HYSTERICAL!!

I sold some beanies on eBay for a friend, she wrote the description because like this guy, I don't know a THING about them...or care...

NOTE: They rarely sell for anything anymore unless you're selling a very rare one. The hype is over with mostly.

Well, I sold 4 little beanie bears for a whole stinking $5.00! Then the buyer has the NERVE to email me when she gets them and says they weren't MINT tags...... because they were off-white!

:confused::confused: :confused: :confused: :confused:

She wanted to know if I smoked!!!

I wanted to write back some of the things this guy said. GET A LIFE!! You spent $1.25 for them, so WHAT if they were off white?????

Thanks for letting me get this off my chest!!
