Was surfing around the CBS/Survivor website.
Danni (super skinny girl on Nakum tribe - the sportscaster girl)

She represented Kansas in the Miss USA pagent in 1996.
My cousin was Miss Vermont that year. heheheh

Random share there. heheheh

That is funny..

Is it just me or is that girl too cut? Her stomach kind of scares me. Or is it jealousy? I don't know...

Kelly

She scares me too...lol...those abs...just aren't right!

Ok...so maybe it's just jealousy...lol

No - it's not jealousy. she's WAY too "cut"
she's going to go down FAST if she doesn't eat enough.
she's skin/bones/muscle. she has no stored "fat" to get energy from...her body will eat at her muscles first...which will make her go down hard.

I don't mean to sound catty...but I wouldn't want a body like that...I think she would look better with some "cushion" on her.

I wondered about her, because she is so skinny to start with. She is quite athletic, but I worry that she will waste away to nothing by the end. :worried:

::yes:: she's too cut and yet her legs are too thin. it looks very disproportionate.
she's going to be skeletal if she makes it until towards the end

I think it is soooo icky! Even my boyfriend asked about her when we were watching the show last night. He was wondering if it was really only the 7th and 8th days because she looked like she had starved to skin and bones already. I really don't think he believed me when I told him she came into the game looking like that. He just kept saying, "WHY?", LOL!

one of the guys in Austrailia...I think it was Jeff...REALLY fattened up after being picked to be on the show. (the time between he was told he'd be on it...and the time he left for Africa). Evidently Mark Burnett (who he had met with) didn't even recognize him when he showed up for the show as he had packed on so much extra weight.

was smart though...

Can I just walk around and tell everyone that I am just fattening up in case I am ever picked to be on Survivor?

Believable?

:o)

She's fearsome, truely, but looked extremely healthy, at least at the start of the game. Without enough food, surely, she'll take a hit, just like everyone will. However, from past history, folks with more stored fat didn't necessarily fare better against the decrease in calorie intake than those who were as physically fit as Danni is.

I don't know...is it really necessary to be "physically fit" to be that cut? I mean, couldn't she theoretically just work out to extreme to be ripped like that, yet not truly be "fit"?

I also think she's scary. I'd like to be in better shape, but not to that extreme. She makes Janu look fat.

No. While you don't need to be "cut" in order to be physically fit, you need to be physically fit in order to be "cut." Furthermore, working out to the extreme, on a long-term basis, is not possible without being physically fit, and working out to the extreme on a long-term basis is a significant predictor of physical fitness.

I'd like to be in better shape, but not to that extreme.
I wouldn't want to work that hard -- being that fit is just not worth that much work, to me.

She makes Janu look fat.
However, that raises a good point: Being thin does not make one physically fit. Danni makes Janu look ill.

I wonder if her endurance level might not help her though? I would assume that she could handle quite a bit of physical stress and her body is likely quite efficient but I don't know about the food issue.

That was Jeff Varner. He is now a news correspondent for our local Fox8news in Greensboro. He does a great job.

Wait, couldn't she theoretically just not eat and do a ton of ab exercises? Thus, she could be cut, but not fit. No?

It doesn't work out that way. You need to have both a very low body-fat percentage, and build up your lean-body mass, in order to get a six-pack. It is incredibly difficult in the best of situations; if you aren't physically fit, you can consider it impossible.
